Hey, Mister! I'm really, really mad! Billy's a meanie! He tricked me with his games and stuff. He's a scamer! Yeah, a scammer! He promised me a super cool toy, but it was just a big, fat lie! My mom says we gotta tell someone about Billy and his tricky ways 'cause he's not nice. So, you gotta do something 'bout it, okay? Billy shouldn't get away with being mean!

First time seeing or listening to you guys--what a great discussion! (I'll admit, I almost clicked off in the first 60 seconds when Justin said "I won't say it's a bad movie, but...." Ha! But I'm glad I didn't.) This is in my top ten of post-Golden Age films. The characters are fantastic, the cast is awesome, the screenplay is wonderful, and the film overall is so comfortable and comforting, as you touched on. There are so many quotable lines that I use often. I remember seeing this when it came out (yes, I'm an old gay--60) and one of the things that stood out at the time was the portrayal of New York. Throughout the 70's and into the early 80's New York was seen as a cesspool, and we were used to movies like Taxi Driver or The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, which showed it to be a hell hole. In Moonstruck, we see New York glowing and radiant, and it was so refreshing and romantic to see it portrayed that way. Overall, on first viewing in 1987-88, Moonstruck was fresh, unique, unexpected and beautiful, and I've loved it ever since I first saw it.

it, rocky horror and phantom of the paradise, are the most subversive musicals ever made the problem with the little shop film adaptation is the oz chose to tone down much of the dark comedy i was lucky enough to see the original off broadway musical with the original cast....i have been in love with ellen greene for 40 years

I once called a group of my VERY close friends "uncultured fucks," because they turned a "Giant" (1956) re-watch/first time gathering into a drinking party. It was a running joke for some time. NICE name choice and close to my heart.

The series was pretty good. I did for a second think that maybe I missed a whole season prior to the first episode 😂 I do feel like lots of inspiration came from old cartoons I watched growing up. Felix the Cat, David the Gnome and especially Frog and Toad. Definitely going to have to watch it again, because I think i may have missed a lot but I enjoyed it. For sure it's something fun to watch when you're on a little trip. I personally love watching "thinkers" when I'm medicated, LOL!
