Why is the ref allowing so much "not walking"? Has he got a whistle? I thought the WFA were clamping down on this sort of play!
@MrBobwillis8 күн бұрын
Many thanks for the comments, yes the EWFL are clamping down with running. Four times by a team its a penalty. I assume that WFA are also clamping down but that is another organisation. Our league rule states that if ou have one foot on the ground its OK but difficult for refs

@mammysboy2006 Many thanks for feedback on the videos I produce for our matches in the Essex Walking Football League. I try my best with drone and 360 footage to show the games as they are. As with most games its running that is th main problem. If you can be a little more specific I can feed them back to the leagues referees group. Happy to leave your link out of it if you like many thanks Bob

Depending on where I am I use GoPros, DJI Drone and Insta360. Using a 360 is the quickest and easiest but still takes time to edit. Like most things its the editing that takes the time see my article on football filming www.bobwillis.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Drones-in-Walking-Football-Bob-Willis.pdf

Filmed on a Insta 360 X4 camera. I use this now as its much quicker that as I oridinally did games when I used a Drone overhead and two Gopro camera in each goal. The editing time was much quicker. Obviously the sections at distance with the Insta are no as good but from the touchline to half the pitch are good and a doddle to edit. Still takes time

I'm an old time hobbist tinkerer, what i want to know, it's not so clear, if this is the second step in board production, the joint between previously balled chip and the pcb.. i would like to know how old were the balls when done this experiment, and if balls was sure good and previously sealed in tight containers before applied to chip.. thanks, bye..
@MrBobwillis5 ай бұрын
Just to answer your questions. Please remember this is a simulation of secondary reflow defects where successful joints. This shows what can happen on second side reflow or possibly when poor rework practice is conducted on adjacent parts. I have created many of these types of video for my workshops. Many people will never see how defects occur only photos of the defects. It just helps to make me a better trainer!! Your questions the age of the balls would not be relevant as the joints were originally satisfactory before my demonstration. Its very uncommon to not form a joint even with aged balls of a few years. Most plastic BGAs are moisture sensitive and can warp or crack as moisture present in the package heats up and the water vapour tries to escape. A defect called popcorning. See my video kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4bCmYhopNSfjKs

Many thanks for your kind comments, the rule in the Essex League is one foot is on the ground at all times. the actual speed of the player is not a factor. As you may have seen there were cards given in games for contact and running by the three registered referees. You are right running is still a much discussed problem for clubs
@jonfuller48566 ай бұрын
Ref had a bad day So much running off the ball Passing back to the keep I counted 20 running players in first 5 minutes
@MrBobwillis6 ай бұрын
Many thanks for your kind comments. Players can pass back to the keeper provided another player has made contact with the ball. Think you will find its in most rules. In the case of running as you know its a long debated subject but many rules say one foot has to be on the ground so you can walk at speed. I believe that the rule should say that the whole of the foot must be in contact but this is not the rule. I think there were four cards for running in the game. Many thanks again

What a cool video! Would it be solved by heating the board a little bit longer or do you have to reball?
@MrBobwillis6 ай бұрын
Secondary reflow is where you have already created a perfect joint. When you run double side reflow rework or wave and selective soldering and the temperature of the board is two high you potentially can have secondary reflow. The board or the package can flex and the interface of the joint can seperate as demonstrated in the video. My Defect of the Month videos over 100 show this tupe of assembly failure
@NicksStuff6 ай бұрын
@@MrBobwillis But this happens because you're reflowing the board *after* it has cooled down, right?
@MrBobwillis6 ай бұрын
If you read through the text with this video it may explain it in more detail as there are other things that can make this happen also. Yes it can be the temperature of the board getting too close to reflow liquidus temperature of the joint plus the flex. Also a little lead contamination with standard lead free sac or low temperature allows lowering the temperature

Many thanks for the comment the rules we play in Essex League is Walking is defined as ‘always having at least one foot in contact with the ground It is characterised normally by the leading leg being straight and the heel impacting the ground before any other part of the foot There is no speed restriction We created a video for some of the basic rules and a set of wall charts for the basic rules for new starters which are freely available to download. Refs do often judge things by speed. At the moment it seems to be penalty kicks that seems to cause confusion

Why are they not WALKING? Warm up, practice matches all jogging or running. Walking is WALKING look at the definition and look for samples on the street, the only ones you see on the streets with the gaits from that example are Joggers. So the FIWFA play jogging football. No problem with that, just don't call it walking football.

In my opinion if a player walks round another static player waiting to receive the ball its OK. Its not coming from behind as some would say. The player waiting to receive the ball should always move to the ball avoiding the situation. Please remember that the video I created is 5 years old but still not bad as a reference. We created it with other training material for new starters. No one reads the full rules do they so a simple guide is best!!. Still the biggest problem is running. In my opinion the rule should be that any play is running if one foot is not on the ground, that is the whole bottom of the foot and not part of the foot
@richardmace142811 ай бұрын
How about intercepting passes that involves moving in front of the intended recipient of the pass? We call it 'poaching' but sometimes the pass is so telegraphed that it's hard to resist just walking in front and taking the ball.
