Grew up in Kilmarnock and moved to Australia when I was only 21. Watching this video brings back so many memories. Killie will always be home

The only good thing I can say about Killie is the one way system works better than Ayr .

Tbh, if it wasn't for the cars I wouldn't have guessed this was 83. Looks just like I remembered it in the 90s

An amazing car and we had two , the red one was a5 SEATER and the white one only a 4 seat version as our small daughter had grown and could see out of the windows . Great fun to drive , when up on the cam .❤👍

My father worked in the Heat Treatment Department of the Albion for over 30 years. I used to love going to the open days back in the 70's.

Excels are such great cars. SO nice to hear your driving impressions while you're driving it. I've wondered how the SA(auto) owners liked driving them. Godspeed and I hope you post more videos of this car. Ive never seen an SA in person here in the states.

Hi Alan, if memory serves me correctly, you lived in the new houses at bottom of Holmes Road? If so, I used to deliver the Sunday newspapers to you. This would roughly 1988 onwards.

Not really a comment but a question. Can anyone remember the name of the shop on High Glencairn St. that sold printed T-shirts, badges, heavy metal things, studs for jackets, etc. and also, I think, halloween stuff and suchlike. Early to mid 80s? Thanks.

Was not going to the Galleon, as i was eating chips. Sacriledge. Anyway, this bugger of a seagull was heading north under the trees that summer's day. Bored, i tossed a chip, and the most amazing thing was seeing them, suddenly stop in mid air, and head for that wee bit ae tattie. You should have seen it.

its like a smaller spinnaker tower, one of my favourite tower designs. its my goal to see this, the national lift tower, big ben, spinnaker tower, the shard and the eiffel tower in my life. (ive seen the blackpool tower and its massive! hard to believe the tallest building is about 5x its height

Hey hey Big Al my pal, - so proud you have used mines and Marty Kristian's songs "Right Time Right Place" & "Bring The Curtain Down" on your Driving Through Kilmarnock film 2021. Personally, that's my first film credit, lol. Wooo hooooo! I must admit, I never realised there was so much history associated with Killie. xx

Thoroughly enjoyed that Alan. The architecture and history was interesting, including the widden curtins!
