After 12 years this is still one of the most incredible and immersive intro I ever saw

Remember how World War Z and The Last of us had very similar opening credits and both came out same year as well

So, so, so damn iconic. Almost tears me up because this opening alone makes me remember how i felt playing the game, lol

This intro sequence is honestly fucking amazing

Imagine if they included international news reports from the UK, Japan, Arabia, Brazil etc. It would legit give you a more panicky feel because everybody is in danger

They should have added news reports from all over the world, as the outbreak spread to every corner. Imagine like German or Japanese reporters inside this intro

Wish the second one had something like this

What i love about this intro is when ever i hear it i can imagine it all happening in my head

The black and white, the news of the world turning upside down, and most importantly, the fungus spreading makes this the most unsettling yet the best video game intro of all time!

This is just the United States alone, now just imagine the rest of the world, like the countries of Africa.

replayed the game after my first playthrough where I took a long pause between the first hour of the game and then finished the game within the span of two weeks. By the time I replayed it I had forgotten about this title scene entirely and was absolutely chilled and stunned by it.

Maybe I'm overstretching it but "ELLIE" means *light* in English & French and it goes perfectly with "When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light" as Ellie is the *light* for both the world and Joel.

"When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light" I know maybe I'm overstretching it but ELLIE means LIGHT and she was the only immune. It was a nice detail as this quote applies to both Joel & the remaining humanity as Ellie was the LIGHT for both.
