There is power in the Blood of Jesus the Lamb of God. Jesus actually told us that these severe weather & other things will happen in these End times we should watch and pray that we can escape and are country worthy to stand before the Son of Man Luke 21:36. My daughter was at school in Dominica when maria came , i had been telling her to leave the island but to no avial anyway on the day Marai came i spoke to her and told her that SHE MUST PLEAD the BLOOD OF JESUS the BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF GOD for protection as in Egyot when God told the children of Israel to put the Blood of the Lamb on the door posts, if He saw it there the angel of death will pass on over and will not stop there.. she said Yes Mum.... anyway to God be the Glory her and her friends and school mates were all accounted for , here is her testimony. I would like to thank Ross Medical School that didnt abandon the students and staff but displayed good shepherd qualities and evacuated them off the island to St Lucia where they where flown to the US and from there wherever they needed or wanted to get to. Thank You Ross Medical school . Also the Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit who declared by Faith Gy Gods Grace we shall survive the Hurricane ( Maria) Elizabeth Funmis mum FUNMI'S TESTIMONY. POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS I want to thank God for His mercies and His protection through the mighty blood of Jesus. Hurricane Maria, a cat 5 hurricane left its devastating effects on the Island of Dominica. I and my friends were accounted for and all students and staff on the island who wish to leave have been evacuated out of the island. I didn't know what to expect from the hurricane but what we got was a lot more than I could imagine. We had had 2 hurricanes, Irma and Jose, pass by us a week and a few days prior respectively with almost no presence but some rain that is normal for the country. The last 2 hurricanes underwhelmed us and so when the warning for Maria was issued, I guess I underestimated it but I prepared for it as much as I could regardless. I lived on the 3rd floor (topmost) in my apartment and for each of the hurricane warnings (Irma, Jose and Maria) I decided to shelter with my neighbour downstairs because I thought it would be better to keep company with someone I knew as the hurricanes passed. The hurricane passed through Dominica from Monday night and we could feel the effects worsen around 8pm till the wee hours of Tuesday morning. The anticipation was high all day. When the storm began, my neighbour and I were moving back and forth from room to room within her apartment to look through the windows and see the effect of the winds as we heard galvanized roofs flying about, windows smashing and the sound of concrete smashing and trees being uprooted. The chairs that were in the gazebo were dragged into the pool and the gazebo itself was smashed and dragged near the pool by the winds. My ears started to pop (even though I was inside the apartment) becuase of the pressure of the winds. We could feel the apartment shake around us. We stayed in the kitchen/living area (the place with the least amount of windows) for safety. I kept on pleading the blood of Jesus on myself, my neighbour and the apartment and the apartment unit and just the country. And I had to exercise great faith at that point. I decided to pray with my neighbour friend and comfort myself with Psalm 91. After a while we just sat on the living room chairs and waited. Just waited for the hurricane to pass and trust in the Lord. Finally at about 1:30am we knew the eye of the hurricane had almost completed its journey out of Dominica and the winds were calming down gradually and we could finally shut our eyes to sleep at about 2-3am after about 7 hours of storm watching. We were safe and uninjured. My neighbours apartment on the 2nd floor where I sheltered for the storm had no damage. Only a small piece of plaster came off my empty apartment. The next day we stepped outside to see the damage Maria had done. Chilling. It was heartbreaking to see that an entire island could change overnight. Words can't explain. We heard much more traumatic stories of the storm night from our other colleagues and many of us were happy to offer our apartments as shelters because there were students who lost theirs to Maria. We ended up going to campus, made sure our important documents were packed and ready to be taken should we be evacuated that day. My school did a good job in evacuating us. I thank God for life and His mercies and protection. Now I just pray the people and Island of Dominica recover and I will give back in the ways that I can to support that. Thanking my family and everyone who prayed for their prayers. God answered and is merciful and faithful. Please continue to pray for and support the people of Dominica. Thank you
