How do you go about insulating the concrete? Seems like it would be a big thermal bridge between the conditioned house and the ground. Can you put rigid foam between the footing and the reinforced walls? And then possibly rigid foam on the exterior of the walls?

I have a 2.3 meter high soil that I want to retain and rural road that has maybe 3 ton cars driving over the road. Do you think I need a double matt rebar in a wall that is next to a tiny road with light traffic.

Great content my man, It would be awesome to get a tour of your form trailers and or your shop setup. Your trailer is intriguing.

Wow those guys are fast. Don't mess around. Concrete men work hard, like road workers. Nice job. I bet that wasn't cheap.

With the different construction advancements are rounded structures a thing of the future? I have seen a home built into a hill covered with earth the structure was above the surrounding land I’m assuming it wouldn’t flood. The expense would be probably ridiculous.

Nice idea with that form truck ! We used to haul around 4 footers in a 20ft box truck. Cab n chassis with form racks for the 8 foot forms (Rapid Forms) back in the mid 1980’s.

Good job and final result! But I think that the thickness of the wall does not work fully structural. Rods reinforcement installed in the center, not closer to the slope, where it works better in tension and the entire thickness of the concrete works in compression, because the overturning force will be from the slope.
@Keithphotorama8 ай бұрын
How do you determine the thickness of the walls to know that it can withstand a hardcore tornado and the debris it throws around? I like what you’re doing but terrified of tornadoes, do I have to ask. Thank you
