What's crazy is I just got my 4090 for $200 dollars. My best friend was lucky enough to get a 5090 and was generous enough to sell it to me on my birthday. I'm coming from a 4070Ti Super and the difference is night and day. It's the best $200 dollars I've spent on anything PC in a long time.

@dragonsystems5973 So very true. Nvidia knew that most people would just buy a 4090 after seeing the reviews. The comparison between 4090 and the 5090 just proves that it should have been called a 4090Ti. The performance gap between the 2 shows you're not really missing anything. Nvidia played on it's consumers impulse. Then, cut the 4090 so that the option to go back was severed. I bet my bottom dollar that most of the people on line that day coming from, say, a 3000 series card would have bought 4090s when told the 5000s were sold out. They weren't gonna leave those stores empty-handed, and Nvidia knew that. Very bad business move.

@ItachiUchiha-jv3rf i dont know if that's entirely the case... honestly I'd be more inclined to think that all ADA production was shifted to Blackwell... remember, they can only reserve soo much fab capacity, so my guess would be the current production of 50 class was all they could spare diverting from Datacenter products.

I agree that the final preceived experience is what is important. I also agree that a 4070 is enought for most modern demanding games. I found that DLSS quality almost always looks equal to native. I have a 4060 ti 16 gig card, 30% slower than the 4070, and it runs perfectly. Zero complaints with DLSS quality mode. But, I do not run path tracing. I personally do not like the look of path tracing even in the least and it's performance hit to your fps. I will probably never ever use it. I like upscaling but not frame generation.
@dragonsystems59732 күн бұрын
@slc9800gtx honestly the only GPU I use any RT features on for anything other than testing and demo is my 4090. I love how big tech channels will insist native has to be better, but then when they put two "Experts"(whatever that means) in front of machines, they will sit there and squint and pixel peep for like 15 minutes trying to decide, at which point I say it's too close to claim a meaningful difference. Honestly FSR is even at least good enough to be worth using over not if you have an older system.. say like a 4th gen i7 with a 1070 or RX 580

Had a 4070 and upgraded to 4070 ti super oc obviosly. I dont see any problem in any game on 3440x1440. This card is only ~10% more expensive than 4070 and provides ~30% uplift over 3070 Ti. Or you could wait for 5070 release, although, judging by it's specs, it will have hard time to even match 4070 Super. Some reason, videos from hardware that is not so common in gamers (including depth benchmarks) is easily more interesting than benchmarking popular game that I have or I can look from friend computer Or, benchmarking together with game engines. Like benchmarking some sample scene with Unreal Engine, Godot and Unity. Hardware can be like anything from Intel integrated from laptop, Steam Deck, Geforce 1650, Geforce 3060, Radeon RX 6700 XT, AMD APU desktop.. or Raspberry Pi 5 :D Because, engines have compilation targets and games are made with those, and working scenes can be imported there.
