count for what? you can use this (probably, with some cs pointer manipulations) to do archery wrong warp with getting caught as your last entrance, previously this required setting fw at this entrance and returning to it after getting the card

But when climbing it sets the animation mode and allows epona to trigger the loading zone

turns out that if the nut hits far enough off camera the explosion hitbox won't happen until its back on camera. and the rest is just normal ttg stuff

@@Zedek_PhD you need to do an empty jumpslash - walk slowly off the ledge so that your a button says “put away”1 frame before falling off press a, and a frame later press b to jumpslash. You can tell you got it if link jumpslashes with nothing in his hands like in the video. This trick is version exclusive to 1.0 so it won’t work on other versions

The way I understand it, which might be wrong: there are 2 chests in this spot, one that’s part of the courtyard room and one that’s part of the tunnel room. They are tied to the same flag, so if you open one of them, the other one will be open too. The trick is to open the chest that is in the courtyard room at the same frame you load the tunnel, which unloads the chest you just opened, preventing it from setting the flag. I do this by hovering under the loading zone for the tunnel.

I personally could see an argument for doing this kind of thing once per chest it can be done with, since even though it is an "infinite key dupe" it's still a unique trick. That would probably require rewording that rule to something like "if duplicating a key leaves the key in a state where it can be duplicated again, it must only be duplicated once in this way" or something

@@dwiese1998 we are going into the well from out of bounds while keeping the top loaded, when we hover into the bottom from out of bounds we prevent it from loading and setting the flag saying that we got that key

yes, so the goal of this trick is to interrupt the cutscene of setting Farore's Wind with another cutscene. this lets me gain control while the ball of light is forming, and so then I can re-cast FW before the ball of light had time to move to its correct position (the last entrance I went through - the entrance to water temple). by doing that, I set a new entrance point, which is where the ball of light was when I re-cast FW and returned to it - right over my head. so I managed to set an entrance point with my current coordinates and room number without ever opening a door, which has some useful implications for the "max% no doors" category (in particular, these room number and coordinates allow us to void warp into fire temple with the room with the Boss Key chest loaded, so we can collect it without opening a door). here's how I'm actually achieving this: first I use 'time stop' near the spot where you play ZL to lower the water normally. this lets you move around while the playing staff is active. I cancel it immediately, but it will activate again automatically when I move near this spot again, so it will be useful in a bit. next I get 'ledge cancel' by getting my shield hit right after climbing out of the water. this puts link in a glitchy state with some weird properties, but the important one is that it allows some cutscenes to interrupt other cutscenes and let you have control back early. lastly, I move back next to the ZL spot. the staff triggers again automatically, and I play ZL to lower the water. with precise timing I also cast FW. thanks to being in ledge cancel, the cutscene of the water lowering interrupts the cutscene of setting FW and lets me gain control early, and from there I can abuse the position of the light ball like I described already. I want to note, though, that after a bit of more testing with the trick, it seems like there's some glitchiness involving reloading savestates which allows it work. so I'm not sure this whole thing actually works on a real copy of the game. but my next video shows a strategy that achieves the same thing and does definitely work, so it's all good. sorry about the essay replay, just thought your questions was a good opportunity to explain what's going on, I'm sure there are other people who are knowledgeable about OoT and have no idea what's happening here because this is incredibly niche.
