Let em whine, just ignore it. He’ll eventually tire and sleep plus learn from it.

I got a dociel pup, his sister's picked on him he's a little shy, he's 9 wks now and calm..he loves my kitten and they play but I'm not able to get his attention due to kitten, should I keep them separate for a bit..I'd like him to get to know me and trust me so I can start working with him on potty training and commands..

I got a Blue heeler from a breeder and it seems any time I walk up to the dog in a manner like to put a leash on he pees everywhere. He sleeps with me. We hang out all the time together. I just feel like he might have been abused before I got him. He was kept outside from birth until I got him at 4 months old. He is now 7 months old. He was a straight dog when we got him but he has learn manners now and everyday he is adjusting more and more. I just feel bad he feels so nervous he has to pee if I walk up in a controlling type situation.

I got a Blue heeler from a person when the pup was 4 months old approximately. He seemed to have never been taught any manners or how to live with humans. We have gotten far with him. But I think he was abused. Any time I walk up to him to try to leash him he pees everywhere. So even trying to leash him he freaks out. I have been working with him. But it is all slow. I can see him learning. We had another dog who just passed away this weekend so now it's really hard on him trying to figure out where his buddy went. I enjoy your videos. I have worked on farms so I know I need to earn their trust to get them to learn easier. I just have no idea how rough the little guy had it. Straight dog when we got him. Now he is a handsome learning to be proud pup.

I would love to see the follow up on this. My Catahoula mix is very much similar. Hates the mailman. He def has excitement issues and hates the 4th of July. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Yes, prong collars are great. Seeing as how you are probably speaking to nonprofessionals, it would be advisable to explain the proper fit (snug) and location of the collar (up high just under the ears), and to point out that all prongs are not created equal--Sprenger collars have ROUNDED tips, which are much safer for the dog, especially in the hands of a beginner trainer. Also, monster links are NOT necessary--if you local store does not have collars with prongs of an appropriate size for your dog, go elsewhere or order on line.
