Hello, really helpfull video. I would like to ask if there is any possibility on FANUC controllers to monitor tool life WITHOUT setting tool group, just as an individual tool. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing! Looks a lot like the UI on my 2012 Puma 2100SY. I read the whole DTLM Manual and played with it but it's not very intuitive. This is somewhat different (milling) but I think this answers a lot of the questions I had.

These are fantastic! I appreciate the effort to make these videos. Only a small critique, the music volume is high and makes it a bit difficult to hear the instruction given. For future topics, would it be possible to do a video about setting the Y offset for multi axis lathes? Thanks again guys!

It is a really nice option that can save tools and workpieces. You could mention also the M200/M201 G code activation possibility also. Is there any chance of modifying values and limits of loss management through G code data input?
@markchristopher580926 күн бұрын
John, yes. As I mentioned in the video you can us G700 with a series of variables to define each tool. It is a little complex, so I intend to do a future video in how to cover this.
@markchristopher580926 күн бұрын
The example G code would look something like this: G700 M700 T56 Ax, Bx, Cx, Dx, Ex, Fx, Hx, Ix, Jx, Kx, Xx, Qx, Rx, Sx, Ux, Vx, Wx, Zx

@@markchristopher5809 dear Mark, I really thank you for pointing it out, I was checking the manual but I could not find. Something more on this topic, is there any possibility to activate record mode via g code? Or only monitor mode via M200/M201?
@markchristopher580926 күн бұрын
@@johnn.katsaoras4958 Only monitor mode can be controlled via M Code. The record mode has to be done with the buttons only.
@markchristopher580921 күн бұрын
@@johnn.katsaoras4958 No. Unfortunately you cannot activate record mode with a G or M code. It requires a human to interact with the control to put it in that mode.

Nice! Could you do a series on Ez guide conversational programming? There doesn't seem to be much available for training on this.

In my post processor I have the option to turn AICC "off" or on (i can pick levels) or there is the option for "NANO" Can anyone explain what nano does?
@markchristopher5809Ай бұрын
Good question! Nano Smoothing is an option from Fanuc that all of our machines come standard with. So, in DN machines when you turn on AICC, NANO Smoothing is automatically turned on. What Nano Smoothing does is take all of those tiny little straight lines in an arc that your cam system generated and turns them into a spline. This allows the look ahead in the control to not try and make every little line appear in your part and gives you that nice finish you are looking for. As for your particular software, I am not sure of why they have the NANO option, but if it were me, I would just use the AICC and know that when I use it, the Nano Smoothing is automatically on. Hope this helps!

Where can I find what aicc is currently set to? And can this code be added to CAM generated programs ?
@markchristopher5809Ай бұрын
Luke, that's a great question. AICC comes set from the factory at "R5". As I said in the video the range is from 1-10. When you turn AICC off with the G5.1 Q0, when you go to turn it back on in another program or later in your current program, you have to give it a G5.1 R3 for example. As for your CAM software, different software's allow for this option to be added into your post. It's a menu they can "turn on" so that you can select AICC option levels when you are programming your part. You will need to talk to your CAM distributor if they offer that option.

Very good tip. The reason you have to powwr down your CNC is because when you powewr on it will do a Sram data back-up. I also recommendo to unlock your 9000´s programs , so taht way the CNC will back them up also. Best regards.

If it wasn't for all the time and money wasted by bad engineering and bad management in this industry, that self driving tool cart might actually be a legitimate savings.
