I have a Studio for lampworking and three craft rooms they’re tidy but to anyone would probably be chaos. I haven’t made glass beads in two and a half years due to illness but hope to get back soon. In the meantime to me it’s comforting to forage amongst my treasure.

I agree with everything you say it’s quite frightening. I’m coming up to 80 and I am concerned for the world. Unfortunately it’s ruled by dictators who care only for themselves whilst they slaughter millions. Two in particular should be done with. We’re like ants all scuttling and getting no where and not many care for the other. It can be quite alienating.

I think many people have lost sight of what really matters most and have become too focused on materialism and instant gratification to see the big picture. If that doesn't change then the human race is doomed, but the one fundamental truth about humans is that in our having higher brain function we have a choice. We can close our eyes and make a slow and steady descent off a cliff, or we can get to work on how to tackle these problems. The world we build may not be what we envision decades from now, but we can make something with what we have. Natural selection might spare those of us who adapt best and make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Many are still stubborn going around with blinders on but many others are coming to terms with the damage that has been done and are working to fix it. I often wonder if there is ever a time when it's too late or whether it's simply a matter of creating a new paradigm in a world that may never be the same but can still be made habitable or even enjoyable.

Sad and worrying times Kate. Only last night I stood at my backdoor after dark and thought that when I was a child, there would have been many moths attracted to my kitchen light....but there are none now. There used to be so many small birds. The tree's were coved with them. Now sparrows are few.

The company has changed hands, but it's called James A Murphy and Friends..links with a chain company..180042BEADS... Maybe they still send catalogues, I don't know. The ones I use are back stock from when I used to fill huge stone and silver earring orders for the Nature Company in the 1990s ! The little saucer beads I use come from Kamal Trading.
