I have a family I am friends with and they are fishermen, they had a wood purse seiner that hit a log out in the strait of Juan de Fuca, they were taking on water and their own pumps couldn't keep up, once the coast guard arrived and started their own pumps, they could keep up with the water coming in, but the boat was still flooded, being towed by the coast guard into Bellingham and it being full of water basically totaled their boat, the pressure from being towed filled with water screwed up all the seams on the hull. Granted, they were able to save the equipment and gear, but the boat was totaled by the insurance company.

You coast guard guys are great and provide a great service. This guy did not seem to be without opptions and he could have, so it seemed sailed to safety outside the heads. Remember crew if you set off your 406 you are putting other peoples life's at risk. Only pop the eperb when all other opptions are used up!

The goods were fresh food and mail. For those wondering, the cylinder on the aft deck of the sub is a portable watertight hangar for a SEAL covert interdiction boat, a large, inboard powered RIB used by special forces for covert landings and interception of terrorist cells.

That aqua duck is a bloody menace! Always have them cutting in front and generally being oblivious.

Water police need to do something about them bloody kyacks. Blocking of entrence so much there’s going to a fatality shortly. Can see it happening 😠
