Robert, I have to agree...partially. As I explained in the description, I should not have arrived in the position to not be able to push forward. So, yes this WAS also a flying mistake. But since I was there, landing was a disaster! Luckily the lesson learned was very cheap, no damage to the equipment or the stuntman! Soon I will post the next landing in strong wind; if I remember correctly you have seen that one live, 3 years ago!

Thank you for your comment! Luckily, I had people to teach me how to do it and also the willingness to listen. Still in 2021, just one month later I had another landing in strong wind, with the same equipment. This time it went much better. I will post the video in a few days and link to it!

Indeed, we get what we call "magic air" many times, into that location. It happens just before the sunset and can last for about one hour. This time it was not perfectly clean, after a strong day, but still enjoyable enough :) And the colour of the sunset....

Maybe less. But it is indeed steep and many falling rocks. So you'd need two spotters looking up and cross fast, only when it looks clear

Thank you for your very nice comment, Peter. Means a lot to know that someone enjoys it. For me ridge soaring is sometimes like a mediation in the air. That is why I chose this type of calm music. I see that you also paraglide there in NZ. How are the paragliding places over there?

@@RaduCernea We're a very long thin Island so some ridges are 30 kilometers long. There's one like that 20km from where I live but my normal ridge is about 1km long because it's only a 15 minute drive. One hour away are the alps which stretch the length of the South Island and great for XC. The cloudbase is a bit lower that Europe though, usially max 2,000M. Thanks again :)

@@peterelliott2914 wow, soarable ridges 30 km long!! There is something like that in Sweden and in Bulgaria, but never had the chance to soar one of those. This one from the video is only 800 m long and I need to drive about 45 minutes from my parents' house to reach the place. Here is the flight on xcontest: www.xcontest.org/2021/romania/zboruri/detalii:raducernea/23.01.2021/13:20 But it is good anyway to have some places to fly reasonably close; when I'm in Sweden there is nothing around Stockholm, unfortunately. If I had a 30 km ridge 20 km from home I would be there on any flyable & free day :)

Good question :). I guess it was lack of preparation for landing, maybe a little bit of downshift and didn't realize that the trees on the right are higher due to the slope. All is well when it ends well, one more lesson learnt

It was my first video editing and I didn't realize I should have used a lav. mic, or use a video editing tool that would allow me to control the volume on have different sound channels. Please turn on the captions, I realize that sometimes my voice was very hard to hear

@@safranpollen In Montenegro, there are pilots who learned on en-c class wings, believe it or not. This guy's active flying is not the best, based on that I also concluded that there is a beginner's spirit in him. 

@@z.r06.07 most of the pilots are flying to high leveled wings. if you are a good pilot, you can make fantastic flights with a mid or high B. But there are some demanding High b´s, like the rush6 for example. I have a colleague with a phi beat light who has done this year lots of flights with 100-200 ki`sflat and FAI triangles

Indeed, this wing is amazing, as you have the chance to see :) The difference in between this one and my old wing is like from Earth to sky. In Romanian we say " a difference from heaven to earth", but in this specific case I prefer to call it from earth to sky, from bombing out early to touching cloud base. 🪂

hahaha, Mike! Most of the times I was tired after a long climbing day. I know, I should've done the fake thing where everything that is on the film is nice and perfect, but that was not the purpose of this video. I just wanted to document the trip for the friends and family. Indeed, I didn't want to act happy when I was not, I didn't know how to act super-rested and fresh after 8 hours climbing at 4500 meters and I didn't stop, washed, shaved, took a shower, a good glass of wine and only then start recording like it was just seconds ago that I finished a climb. But I'm OK with that, there are other bicycle touring video where everybody is super happy and smiling all times like they never get tired. I wonder if they use electric bikes :)
