As one person said these should be supplemental kits. You can't use them alone but as a backup. Have you made a tin? I don't remember seeing one. With all you have reviewed it should be a useful kit.

Not very well thought out tin, 2x matches and 2x cord makes no sense and could be replaced w something more useful, loose meds + a rather bulky knife (which at that point you should have/carry in your pocket if you're going to make a 'survival tin' 😂) which could also be replaced for more useful stuff. I believe that these 'tin kits' should be supplemental to what you're already carrying. I built mine around what I already use in a way that just expands the use case / scenario for multiple items beyond their original use (e.g. 4x aaa doubles up as a firestarter w a foil wrapper and flashlight battery replacement)

That’s also a good way to look at it some people are looking at it as if they only grab that kit they would be ok but I do like the idea your saying also by making it an Extention of your edc. Like I typically carry a knife, multitool, flashlight, pow pow, wallet, phone, etc. sometimes I carry more stuff but that’s a general edc. Then you build yours to supplement gear you don’t have in your edc. I like it.

The flashlight was a little disappointing. There are ones that take up much less space and put off better light. Still not too bad of a kit. Definitely need to add a lighter and a better cutting tool. Some wster purification tabs are a must. And a stainless steel nesting cup to sit the bottle into would be a good idea. I also can't help but notice the lack of cordage as well.

That cheap bag-I would use to store the stuff that didn’t fit in pockets or if I didn’t want to carry in pockets. People, please save your $ money 💰 💵 make a good kit with what you’ve already got on hand. Stop wasting your hard earned overtaxed money on cheap junk that funds the countries that want to financially and otherwise destroy your country!
@whitetailsurvival2430
@whitetailsurvival2430 9 күн бұрын
That’s a great way to think but I imagine a company purchased these kits for pennys on the dollar then they mark them up 1000% and resale them here for a large profit. Most of the stuff in your house from your cloths tools and bedding come from the same place. I don’t feel like this kit is bad and it would be impossible to make one to the equivalent with the same amount of money. Just a single walled metal cup costs more than that. I don’t disagree more stuff should be made here for a better price but politically and structurally our country and economy cannot do that so for now a kit like this can be used to start as a base kit for someone new. Add a water bottle pouch a nesting cup a fixed blade and some other items of your choosing and your on your way to a better kit. I could use this kit to spend a night in the woods no problem. Everyone forgets that this isn’t a bug out bag or get home bag these little things are for a rough night
@Nunya9876
@Nunya9876 9 күн бұрын
If you can’t put your hand into the bottle to grab the items, it’s not a wide mouth, in my opinion. Most of these kits are Chinese junk. Too many people are lied to by advertising-which is not honest in most businesses’ advertisements anyway! Heres a real challenge: take a container 🫙 or a “water bottle”, something similar in size to that crap, and go around your home and fill up the bottle with what YOU would actually use in a survival situation, then actually go out there in the wilderness (not your back yard/property or property of someone you know) and stay out there for at least 72 hours with just what you put into that bottle or whatever container kit you put together.
@whitetailsurvival2430
@whitetailsurvival2430 9 күн бұрын
Why would you take this kit for 72 hours? What don’t you understand? That’s not what this is for these are to get you through a possible rough night to get you out in the morning. It’s actually incredible to me that you cannot use this kit to survive a night you may want to work on your skill set if you cannot. You should literally be able to stay a night in the woods with the space blanket and a fire! It’s very uncomfortable but it’s possible. This is a 282 acre farm out here it’s in the mountains and it’s realistic to stay out here and practice survival and bushcraft in my area and environment where I live and where I most likely would be put into a survival situation. The final thing I would like to add is that I don’t build these kits and the channel is designed around opening these kits it would be awfully boring to continuously open my own survival kit over and over again to the viewers of the channel. If you think you can do a better channel please start one and tag me and I will watch your videos and take pointers.

For $20 this kit is a bit of a disappointment, but on sale would be a decent starter for a medium-size survival kit. I waffle between mess tins and water bottles for this size kit. Thank you i believe this could be built around a molle water bottle pouch that gives you more room to expand the kit! This is a quart bottle/ 32 oz so it is actually a wide mouth bottle but the space blanket and poncho packs are so big it’s hard to get them out. The kit contents are expensive I do like to see people price them out to see if they can make a better kit for cheaper. A single walled metal cup is already more than this entire kit 😂

I would definitely recommend adding purification tablets. I would say if I bought a kit like this. I would take everything out and assess it. I would take out what I didn’t feel was necessary and add what I wanted. You should always do that anyway. I don’t really understand why so many people could not survive an overnight stay with a kit like this. This is not a get home bag or bug out bag. These kits are for a possible stay in the woods maybe for a night as a just in case kit without having to lug around a full pack with you. I could make a fire and shelter with this kit and survive a night for sure! I’ve done it before with nothing but my hunting gear in the fall one time. I made something similar using a generic brand water bottle - used the same brand for years & taped a metal cup to the bottom. It was great & I tried the contents out to see if they worked. I found a few nylon foldable backpacks in a discount shop. I tossed these inside & a cloth cap with a pair of soft cotton work gloves (these are just cotton & not heavy duty). These were all the triplicates I had include a hospital soap & sewing kit into the bottle. You can add a few plastic bags & a lighter or 2 but this is a survival kit not a camping trip kit.

I might even swap the bottle out for a single walled steel one. I would probably eliminate the whistle/match storage container add a small whistle and compass. Maybe a mini bic. Definitely swap the flashlight out for a better led flashlight I would probably get an Olight i3e or i3T just for the size and brightness plus the cost is great. I definitely could use a hank of cordage maybe wraps 20-30 feet around the outside of the bottle or put a hank of 100lb micro cord on the inside of the kit. I would add a fishing kit for entertainment. There probably is more stuff but that would be ok for me for a short term kit

@Bushcraftnbaseball @Bushcraftnbaseball I'll probably get one of those thanks is it stronger than a Gerber mini multitool?... I was thinking of an $8 or less that could be bought in bulk for cheap to put in affordable kits to sell . Like if I wanted to sell kits for $25 . They do have cheap mini multitools so it's possible there's a strong one

@@Bushcraftnbaseball thanks I'm gonna get one of those , is it stronger than a Gerber mini multitool? I was thinking of a mini multitool that could be bought in bulk and get them down to $5 or less . There are a lot of mini multi tools for under $5 without buying in bulk so I'm thinking there might be some $8 ones that are strong.

When I was a kid, before Bic lighters, I has the strike anywhere kitchen matches in my back pocket light. The trash going to the burn barrel occupied both hands, so I was pushing the screen door open with my butt. Painful lesson in matches.

That’s awesome I love hearing stories like this I used to have the garbage chore also I have 5 sisters so I was burning a good few bad quite often 😆 i actually enjoyed using the strike on box matches because it was the only time I could use them

Eh ramping and memory mode? I’ll pass. I was looking to get a larger version of my Archer mini. It’s fantastic no memory mode, good usable modes and easy and intuitive switch between them. Guess I’ll just stick to my Saber. I just don’t like having to remember where I left my light or having to cycle back through to get it to where I want it to come on. I just want it to come on the same every time. I imagine that’s subjective though.

Yea highly subjective 😆 I don’t mind the ramping i typically use my lights on medium modes anyway to conserve battery but I feel like there would be more people that would complain about the lack of technology if there was no mode memory. It’s definitely personal preference but in all honesty I don’t have a certain preference in lights when it comes to the way they work. As long as it works 😆

G-10 backspacer and handle material with carbon fiber overlay, I do believe. Great knife! Kizer is solid

I'd say you better pre pack that one before you potentially need it. Wouldn't try to open that main zip lock bag when in a survival situation with cold freezing hands...
