I agree it's very hard. Just one candle needs to be lit. Its a horrible design but I think at the time they were catering for group activities but no update since.

I agree. FFXI was designed as a time sink because back then SE had no experience with MMO. The same thing happened with FFXIV 1.0. it was a time sink just sad.

I suspect only certain people were targeted and not others because plenty of private servers are still up. But it doesn't matter I don't care to play ffxi or even on private servers. I have to be mad to pay sub for a 20 year old game that expects 0 significant updates. Now go back and copy and paste this comment to its rightful platform.

It's cool. It does not bother me. I do not stream or make money from these videos nor do I pay for it. However, I will be removing all my FFXI Ps videos along with retail.

i agree Snow, private servers need to be all shut down. piracy is piracy this guy is pissed because he got slapped for breaking the law. he should just be happy they dont go piratebay / napster on him.

The notable difference is daily log points to buy certain gears that change every month. You get to use trust via crafting to 60 and 80 for additional. All jobs are here including RUN and GEO. Everything is pretty much retail with some custom content and many QoL adjustments. If you want to play on a 75 cap server with a little modern day flavor turn give it a go. This server is mainly centered around crafting. I would say check out their site in the description.

@@Nyplaysgame that's what I thought too when I first played WoW back in 2005, but once you get used to it, it's so much better than playing with a controller.

I will have to do this quest soon. But yeah it takes alot of time to complete. It's a massive time sink.

@casualgamer00 really sucks that you can't over level it for obvious reasons. After this quest you are pretty much home free though.

Same back after 10 years and having issues soloing the Qudav's with trusts, its frustrating but nice to see the way it used to be, the only thing quick in the old FFXI was death lol

Two things you want is FFXI vision and view. Vision is the maps it will replace the dat files with NM spawn location overlays. You can Google it but Drauku should be most updated version.

FFXI doesn't really have a replay value. Some quests that you need to do take forever and are very difficult for a new character. So, I just do it once and over. It's hard to pick up a new character on the retail server even with all the qol updates.

Those were fun times. My age, time, is responsibilities and the first time experiencing a mmorpg makes it very unique. Cannot get that moment back even if you were to get ppl to play on a pre lv.99 era server.

There are alot of cool nostalgic sound effects that gets me at times.

I would do the video again with voice over but it has been awhile since I played this game.
