As an Ameriandian (buckman so the ordinary man can understand) I still cannot understand how a simple lot or house lot in Guyana has become the "holy grail" for so many Guyanese today! Yes, I understand that people need jobs and that most jobs are found below sea level on the coast in Georgetown, and I would not call them good paying jobs either. Anyway while most Guyanese people looking for a piece of land near Georgetown, Chinese taking up land all over Guyana and are changing many local landscapes, Lethem for example. So please people do not feel that the government is doing a favor to add to their "achievements" and "track record". all ah we grow up singing "This land is my land, this land is your land" not PPP or PNC land, just remember that!

President Ali, you need to take this situation extremely serious with immediate effect. The physical image is the first impression of our great nation. The East Bank Public Road is an EYESOARE!!! Keep it organize with visible traffic signs and clean even thou its under construction. Remove roadside vendors and other solid waste.....omg!! I cannot write anymore...i am so fraustrated!! Since Independence the PNC, AFC, PPP & Guyanese cannot manage garbage collection. What does this say about the peoole of Guyana?

I blame both the people and government of Guyana for this lawlessness. Most importantly, i strongly believe the opposition parties, especially the PNC and some of its supporters are mostly responsible for the garbage being dumped everywhere. They are doing it out of HATE, SPITE, ETC. to give the PPP government a bad name. They are willfully dumping and throwing trash all over Guyana. This is where the PPP Gov't has fault, in no budget i have read or hear the gov't is investing heavily in garbag & solid wast collection. They have been in power for more than 28 years now and nothing major. They are not even enforcing the law rappidly. The PPP needs to encourage the private sector to invest in grabage & solid wast collections. This way the gov't will not have to employ thousands of people and pay out benefits. Govt need to build the infrastructure and manage it and have private corporation collect the garbage.

Why we don't have people employ for that

That was the number one complaint I heard from my family going home to visit Guyana. It's was full of trash everywhere. It's embarrassing for visitors seeing all the waste all over the place. Recycling bins should be all over the cities towns and villages. And advertising should be all over the country about garbage and waste being disposed of properly

The Georgetown garbage mayor and City Council are doing they're supposed to clean up the trash and drainage around the City

I read a million house lots but people are being jerked around when they go to acquire them..yrs of waiting then lost payments and paperwork, eventually people will get FED up
