Thank you for sharing this. Anyway, I previously heard about PR strategy? is it the same with PR plan? some people said it is more high level. PR strategy consists of some PR campaign. Curious about your thought. Thank you note: if there is a template for PR plan with example would be very much appreciated 🙏
@PR1012 ай бұрын
PR strategy is drafted like once in a long-time, say 3-5 years, and it sets the overall direction of where your organization needs to go in terms of reputation (complementing your organizational objectives), media you wish to appear in, goals you wish to achieve, spokespeople dedicated for various topics, etc. PR plan is drafted every time you have a campaign you wish to run - so you could have 2-3 campaigns running every quarter - and each PR plan is dedicated to making that particular campaign a success. What specifically does the PR plan include? It's all the ingredients I tell you in my video.

Hi, I stumble across your channel, watched almost most videos and I found it "Very Insighful". Now, I wonder if you want to help me answer some of these questions that stay in my mind for a quite long period : First, I wonder the what the best practice PR for Brand-New Small & Medium Business? In some cases, they are just starting out the business and the money is limited. Second, When the best time to hire team for Public Relations? and what is the plus & minus between hiring PR professional (outsource) or building in-house "public relations team" ? Keep it up! Thank you for your sharing
@PR1012 ай бұрын
Those are terrific questions. it really depends on the nature of your business in my opinion-PR is the answer when you're trying to build long-term reputation in the market and it's done through media interviews, press releases in print newspapers and digital news portals, carefully planned content across owned social media channels, etc. Advertising can be the answer when reputation is secondary to sales, and what you're really trying to do is sell volume of whatever it is that your business does, to meet short-term revenue targets. Most businesses do both. With respect to in-house vs. PR agencies - again great question - in my opinion, that depends on your budget, the amount of work you have for them to do, and your ability to provide your in-house team with the tools and resources necessary to be successful. Greater volume of work and budget, you may want to tender it out to an agency and let them pitch their credentials and ideas to you. Smaller amount of work and tighter budget, you may want to hire a part-time in-house resource to manage your PR efforts.

Ohya, I have another question related to PR objective. Can we have number? or should we have number on our objective? here are some objective example that I got from one of PR course i joined, but i still curious what's your thought : 1. To achieve 100 new downloads of our calorie counting app in Q3 2. To drive 3,000 sales of our new smartphone in 2024 3. To increase public awareness of the negative impact of eating meat on the environment by 20% 4. To position our spokeperson as a thought leader on the issue of workplace safety within 3 years 5. To increase web traffic by 20% in 4 months 6. To generate 100 quality followed link in 6 months to support our SEO strategy 7. To drive 1,000 new visitors to our film festival In your opinion, each of 7 objectives above can be PR objective? Thank you in advance
@PR1012 ай бұрын
@@MuhammadYusufMulyana. Some of those abovementioned goals are more in the territory of marketing KPIs (this happens as soon as you start adding sales targets and other quantitative targets, e.g. #1, #2) rather than pure PR objectives (e.g. #3, #4 are closer to PR objectives), but overall, each are indeed campaign objectives of some kind, yes.
@MuhammadYusufMulyana2 ай бұрын
@@PR101 Ok2, so does it means PR Objective should not use the number / quantitative? If yes, I have another follow up question on how we measure it? how good / bad our reputation ? and from the financial perspective, when we spend x amount of budget for PR, how we justify it ? how we convince the stakeholders that this PR budget is worth spending ?

What’s your newswire of choice? I used Pressat lots of times for UK clients but not sure about reaching USA media?

Frankly, both CISION and AETOSWIRE are good. I've not had an issue with any. CISION might be more well-known. On the other hand, I don't think I've gotten faster replies by the customer care of any other Newswire than AETOSWIRE - they send super fast replies and customer care is awesome too.

I am a recent BA graduate and start a MA in Public relations this fall. I really enjoy the concept o public relations and marketing, but chose to go into PR as I preferred the concept of building brand trust and reputation, creating creative campaigns as apposed to working towards sales figures. However, I am now worried that i made the wrong choice as I can be a little shy at times and am not the person who can walk into a room with the confidence to walk up to everybody and start conversations. How important is this in terms of the networking side, and do you think I have made the wrong choice?

Hey Sophie, join Toastmasters right now. Not tomorrow. Not later. Now. Ultimately, your success - and future bank balance - irrespective of field, depends on your ability to project yourself and talk to others. I'm an introvert too. Toastmasters is the best.

How about Why is advertising important in public relations?
@PR101 Жыл бұрын
I'll definitely add it to my next list of videos - thanks for the lovely idea. Just a bite-size answer on that now, Ishie: to be honest, today, nothing that isn't 360 degree comms (inclusive of paid media, earned media, and owned media) is likely to amount to a lot of PR success. Paid media and advertising is critical to the distance your idea goes. Also, p.s. healthy track records of advertising with various print, digital, and broadcast channels also help promote amounts of earned coverage by the same channels in many cases.

Pr is marketing. Advertising is marketing. Product marketing. The difference is that Advertising source is you and you have agenda. While in PR there is a third party which may have no agenda. Someone speaks about you or shows you - pr. Therefore reviews are pr. Posts of influencers using your product are pr. Etc
