great vid, this area is a real gem. Would it kill Amtrak to get an electronic train departure board in the station (nothing fancy maybe a 42 inch tv screen), not an issue for locals but in the summer time with all the visitors, no one knows whats going on.

they're doing renovations some time in the near future. i'm hoping they end up adding departure boards but i doubt it.

@@CTSLRailfan I wonder if the funds are tied into the Coast Guard museum. One rendering is ugly as hell, but at least includes a pedestrian bridge. No sure when they demoed the historical one, probably in the 1960s. A simple screen bulletin/kiosk like they have at Amshacks would do in the meantime.

Great video! I have a question, though. I've been having some issues with shakiness in my videos lately, but I have noticed that yours has little to no shaking. How do you manage to make your videos so stable?

@@northeasternrailfilms Thanks! I’m not sure about the stableness. Could be the quality of the tripod or because I mostly always use the tripod on the lowest setting.

i never understood why they wait until the train is 75% into the station before slamming on the brakes? Maybe if they slowed down sooner they would have to slam to a stop?

Usually they take a bit to stop. Since these trains can have pretty fast brakes they want all the coaches to be on the platform.
