Why would you have music playing when everyone just wants to hear the DFV engine.

It was an incredible event, I'd have gone again 3 months later if I'd known that would be the last one. They are able to do static runs with the smaller planes now but Victor, Nimrod, and Comet are not accessible and the VC10 is no more.

If I was good at videos, I'd have panned across the museum to end the video. And recorded some more of the 146.

Such a sweet sound. Shame there isn't more footage of it around - especially in HD.

I have another clip of it but a flat out pass was too much for a cheap compact camera so the sound isn't great

When Group B got canned at the end of 1986, Austin Rover were selling off the 6R4 Clubman spec cars they'd built to meet FIA regs for either £11.5k or £13.5k each. - Anyone got a time machine?
@ralphedelbach9 ай бұрын
Many very nice cars but I don't care for the low camera position used when cars were departing, starting at about 21;00. Not the most pleasing position for viewing these magnificant machines...IMO.
@bengvideos26989 ай бұрын
I've always liked that low shot with the palace filling the background, could be an angle that's better as a photo than capturing the cars on video? Might try something different this but may suffer a lack of imagination and do the same thing again.

If you are the original owner of this car Sir, may I ask how you were able to get a replica body of a Chaparral 2A?
@richardfalconer19592 ай бұрын
@@apameecopark same way as I got the body on my Chaparral 1 , I discussed it with my fabricator and paid for it to be made. Fifty years experience drafting historic buildings and making scale model aircraft helps.

@richardfalconer1959 Wow Mr. Falconer, I have your Chaparral book in my library! Thank you for replying and what an honor. I love Chaparral cars. Jim Hall created amazing cars that are still strikingly beautiful today asides as being incredible race cars. By any chance, do you have the Chaparral 2A body panels available for sale? I would love to be able to have a replica of what is my childhood dream Can-Am race car. Kind regards, Richard

Who puts loud music in a video meant to showcase the engine sound? Ok, the video is in an enclosed place where the poor thing can barely accelerate for a fraction of a second. Matches the music.

Not my choice - music was being played over speakers. I'd much prefer to have had just the car noise.

People in the 1930's drove through dangerous tracks without barriers, only wearing a leather cap! That won't do anything! The standard race suit was a damn T-shirt, and there were no seatbelts. Those cars were literally mini death traps on wheels!

hi - where abouts is the spot you were stood at? Looks amazing for photos
@bengvideos26982 жыл бұрын
First spot is the inside of Chapel Curve looking up through the Maggotts/Becketts complex. There are some holes in the debris fencing, but I imagine there'd be a large crowd in that area at big events. Second spot the the grandstand on the inside of the track between Abbey and Farm.
