Definilty recommend it. Just build the engine with billet stuff and make sure it’s properly tuned. I’m doing very cheaply so don’t Follow the cheap route. If you don’t use a billet fly wheel it definitely kill someone or your self if you remove the governor!!!

@@Vibrant13 how would you even oil the turbo on a predator 212? Im looking to do the same thing on my 212
@Vibrant13Ай бұрын
I used an external oil pump. Mine is actually an auto-zone fuel pump which I really probably shouldn’t use so wouldn’t recommend but it seems to work so far. Some guys say to put grease in it with ethier a great fitting or just pack it in it and add some every so often.

@Vibrant13Ай бұрын
Really am thinking about doing it that way just to give it a shot. Only thing that sucks it cost of oil that it might waste cause it takes about 14 gals of oil. But I am considering it!
@jonhigdonАй бұрын
@@Vibrant13I've done it several times. Time consuming but worth it. A lot of that is just going to be babbit stuck to the journal. One of them that I did i started with a green roloc disc on an angle grinder. Just work through your grits with a long piece of emory like your shining a shoe, rotating your crank position often. It's worth a shot bro.

Its purpose is to remove the oil pan without it hitting the ground and denting and also to prevent any leftover oil after draining from spilling onto the ground.

No, it’s just to get out from under the car with whatever you’re holding... That pan isn’t denting from a 8 inch drop buddy.

I mainly did it this way to show the size of the pan but as well this oil pan on a Cummins ISX from Cummins cost $2,100 dollars so I am definitely not going to risk any damage to it. It also weighs 42 pounds. Not heavy but can be awkward with the size and shape.

Would this tune work on a 4.0 with a manual? From what I see people just say it changes shift points, but on a manual that would be useless
@Vibrant132 ай бұрын
So I can’t confirm this but they do change somethings in the engine. What exactly I have no idea. Got a tuner for a Manuel 17 GT Mustang and it picked up a bit. In the automatics the most noticeable change is the shifting cause it so much more aggressive! I did try and pull the tune off the car after uploading the Bama tune but they lock the computer so I couldn’t pull it to see what they changed. They do tune the engine but have no idea how much or to what extent

Here is a related question: When removing the engine, can you unbolt the compressor without opening the refrigerant lines? Then remove the engine without removing the condenser? In other words, can you remove the engine without opening the A/C refrigerant lines?
@Vibrant132 ай бұрын
I believe so off the top of my head. I don’t think they would be in the way cause the lines move over with the compressor. I would think you be fine to keep the ac system closed off the top of my head. I’ll check in later if I find a reason you can’t
