Dang, the dude using the leg looks like he would be really good at Reinhardt in Overwatch.

hint : you can stick some sensors on a regular leg to collect data, the parameters can be hip and knee angles, orientation ,speed ,acceleration (and maybe neurological signals) , etc then use that data to train a model that can move the leg like a regular human , since humans also train their legs to walk in the first place this was just an idea that can be a total failure in practice

As somebody with nerv damage in one of my foots this would be verry helpfull for longer walks since it tends to bow in both directions after some time.

I'm looking around for a planetary gear box of high torque and between 4:1 to 10:1 reduction ration, similar to that you guys are using for your project. May ask where did you get the reducer from?

That is so cool. Having the calf muscle where a calf muscle would be also means it won't look weird under a pair of jeans. It will be interesting when a User can put one of each leg and walk about.

HELLO... My name is David, I'm 21 from Nigeria, currently in my final year studying Mechanical engineering. In a bid to challenge myself, my project work is around building a lower limb exoskeleton to assist stroke recovery patients learn how to walk again, basically something similar to this. Please I need assistance and would love to get in touch

So why do you have the the prosthetic mounted approximately 4" down from the knee where it would actually be mount to ?
@coolbionicle
@coolbionicle Жыл бұрын
Because the prototype has its own knee. The mount and shoe platform are accomodating for that.
@BionicLocomotion
@BionicLocomotion Жыл бұрын
The able-bodied user demonstrating the device has their own knee joint, so everything gets shifted down. This isn't the case for amputee users, check out our KZbin channel! That being said, we are working on a new version that makes alignment even better.

Very cool! These videos make it easier to highlight and explain research papers. How would this differ from the native controller on the powered ankle exoskeleton (ExoBoot?)
@rgregg84
@rgregg84 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The native controller, as far as I understand, would not adapt to varying step length and ground incline, but instead use a fixed time-based torque profile.
