His front foot should never be close to home plate on his pop up that’s how you slip ball goes to center the proper distance is when you extend your glove it almost touches batters back knee just saying

True. We normally do these drills with a hitter standing in so they can incorporate proper depth spacing. But for the purpose of this video we just focused on showing the footwork piece.

Keep that throwing hand behind your back, even in drills. That will help make it permanent. Great video!

In throwing situations(secondary position) you want the hand behind the glove or tucked into the hip so you can make the transfer faster. If you are chasing a passed ball there was a runner on so being in a secondary position is necessary.

Hand behind the back is good for smaller kids, but they should learn to keep the throwing hand thumb covered by their fingers, elbow back toward the body and hand basically tucked into the thigh and stomach protected by the chest protector.
