I haven't listened to the whole podcast, but from the first 10 minutes or so, it seems like some of this podcast is about The Blazing World, but much of it is about a completely different book. I think something might have gone awry during the editing process. For an episode from the same team on The Blazing World, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJvYeoKjmLWfe5Y

Yes, this podcast seems to focus on Abu Bakr ibn Tufayl’s Hayy ibn Yaqzan, not Cavendish's Blazing World.

Oh jeez! I got confused by Peter Brown's comment (I thought it was on the Hayy video). I've been meaning to catch up with the KZbin videos. In the meantime, you can listen to our Blazing World episode here: www.megaphonic.fm/spouter/18

The Quran makes the claim that mankind originally came from clay / the ground / Earth... He's probably paying homage to that..

It seems to me that Hayy ibn Yaqthsn is much closer to a 20-21est Century Weltanschauung than The Tempest, which remains largely in the 17th Century with regards to most particulars.

I have read this work many times in Latin and Arabic. What is really cool is reading it in 18th century German in the old Gothic script.
