Years ago I used to camp at rainbow lake and I have camped at the end of the road near silver Lake. I always enjoyed driving through the little mine camp. It was always a rumor that an old Russian guy lived there and mined it.

@@719LostInpine I want to tackle Red Cone next year in my 2001 Wrangler SE. I only have 29” mud terrains (no offsets; narrow), but I do have lockers and a winch. This is the only spot I am concerned about but it looks like all I need is some rock stacking at the least, but after seeing your video, I might actually fit! 😆

Carnage Canyon and Penrose are harder in my opinion, but after winching up Cleveland Rock, it was much worse coming down it 😉 we, as in CORE just spent three days up there fixing all the drainage issue beginning with French Creek and then working our way back down. If I can, I'll share the link of the video.

Have you guys ever driven FS 379 Frosty Park road at the base of Mt. Rosa off of Old Stage road? If not, I'd love to take you guys, it's a bit of a challenging but worth it drive that many off-roaders don't talk about enough. I have a 4x4 Dodge Dakota I'd be driving for the trip. I live in Colorado Springs and try to make excursions as often as I can. For a long time it was a fairly easy dirt road, and may be why it's underrated. Now it's mostly an exposed rock path that's barely a road anymore. Followed all the way up, it goes past Mt. Almagre to High Park where it looks like there might be really nice, fairly isolated camping.
