I wonder if fantasy enactment is easier than historical reenactment ? Is there more leeway since fantasy has fewer rules to follow?
@RaccoonTravelАй бұрын
Yes and no, it depends on how you feel about it, I'm trying to be pretty accurate to Skyrim so it is a bit restrictive, but also, Skyrim is not historically accurate and has a few things that are probably more modern than even historical reenactment, so it goes back and forth 😅
@cyberdystopia3403Ай бұрын
It is tough work putting together gear for a larp or reenactment. One of my goals is to do the same thing with a scifi or cyberpunk theme but it's difficult. For a bedroll I ordered an actual body bag to start with. Doesn't get much more dystopian than sleeping in a body bag. Now I just have to figure out what goes into it to turn it into a useable bedroll.
@RaccoonTravelАй бұрын
@@cyberdystopia3403 definitely a tough process, there are a lot of good videos online for making bedrolls, basically just boils down to an outer layer for wind and rain, and inner layers for warmth. That sounds awesome though, a body bag bed roll is very cyberpunk!

The "experimental video game archaeology" thing is a really cool concept. I think you need to go harder though, like no plastic chain mail, faux fur, etc. - as close to real materials as you can possibly get, exclusively. No cutting corners. Imagine how built you'll be by the end of it.
@RaccoonTravelАй бұрын
@@user-dx5lw5ju8l there are some things I'll never cut from my kit, like my GPS device and my emergency stuff, but my goal is to get as away from modern gear as possible! I am mostly in the testing phase, I want to see what works and what doesn't, and as I kept more experienced with these hikes I'll start cutting stuff for sure. The warmer months will be also easier when I won't have to fight the cold as much and bring extra cold gear lol
@Retetop7 күн бұрын
Wear as much wool as you can and build a big fire in the colder months
@RaccoonTravel7 күн бұрын

That is the perfect idea I was looking for! Have you consider some kind of tent?
@RaccoonTravelАй бұрын
Yes! It would be something of a tarp in the shape of a lean to. If I had not sewn by bedroll shut it could have been used that way as well. That being said, and I am realizing I never mentioned this, if it does rain or snow, I can curl up into my bedroll and wrap it over my head and it will keep me nice and dry.
