At no point did I see a trowel. You're better off using a 10" knife on the first coat, and a skim on the next 2 coats so you don't have to go wider than necessary.

Your battery problem is a blessing trust me. I know milwaukee guys on my jobsite that have 12v batteries flying off their milwaukee tools because they wear out easier over time

Video would have been *much* better with a couple tweaks. Instead of the simplistic single cable, you could have used 5 separate short coax lines all bundled together (with one of them made to be faulty) but with the cables run through 12" of PVC pipe to obfuscate the lines. You could then have used all 4 of the remote nodes to demonstrate the value of this particular tool ... being able to quickly identify several lines, as well as faults. With each coax line prepped at their "central junction" end with a flag of masking tape or similar, each coax line could have been tagged with the associated remote node color indicated when tested ... and then the cables could have been pulled out of the PVC pipe to demonstrate that all the tests had been accurate. Also, the video starts by explaining that one end of the short cable would be the TV location and the other the central junction, and then the remote test node was installed on the "central junction" end of the cable ... which is NOT how you'd use these.. You'd typically want to attach the remote test nodes to the in-room coax wall outlets (making note of the the color/room associations), then use the test module at the central junction to quickly get each associated coax line identified and labeled. And, perhaps most critically, the video should have demonstrated the assumptions for use of this tool by demonstrating what happens when a splitter is in the path between the remote test node and test module.

30 year service plumber, I’ve always just used a wood blade in the sawzall, while running a vacuum. I like the idea of this blade being short, and that it isn’t sharp, I don’t like how you pretty much run the shoe flat to the wall also. this blade isn’t going to work if you’re trying to cut down the center of a stud. I’ll stick to what I know, the good old wood blade.

Good to know. I have both pencils, preferring the Hultafors, since its flat design won’t roll off my workbench. I haven’t used colored lead in the Hultafors, but will keep this in mind. If it becomes an issue, I’ll probably just clean out the cylinder w/ a pipe cleaner.
