Good video. Struggled with this problem too. The lighting is dark so seeing the joints to reinforce is vlose to neal but your ginger pointing helps. I'm going to attempt making these before fall.😊

Why not make up something like an ( Evernew Titanium Alcohol Stove Cross Stand ) but out of some metal you have laying around the area. Or one like the ( Leipupa stove folding emergency camping stove with pot support rack.) Not the stove , only the circular rack. A small BBQ Round rack if one can be located which would fit over your larger stove.

Yes I can confirm the stability issue with the high seat / hi center of gravity! First time out with my Pack and not going out again until I lower the seat :-)

I just rebuilt my old steel wheelbarrow a month ago, and now I'm viewing what others have done to see what I might have done. BEST think you did was to oil the bolts when the barrow was new! Rusted bolts that have to be cut away and replaced are a pain. However, I'm painting on axle grease I happen to have on hand rather than oil. That see3ms like it ought to last longer. Using the mower wheels is very creative! However, I'm finding that the main reaswon barrow wheels wont hold air is that the tire no longer makes a good seal with the bead on the steel wheel ----it needs a sealant. I've seen people recommending a variety of different sealants, which suggests that any sealant will probably do the job. I used my trusty axle grease again, and after a month the tire doesn't leak. Very good on replacing the rotted wood. The wood on my thirty year old, much neglected barrow was still mostly good. I replaced one of the wedges, which had rotted out. My major criticism of your rebuild is that you didn't disassemble everything and prime and paint everything, especially the obviously rusted tray. You did a lot of disassembly, but not this essential feature needed to avoid further deterioration. I'm surprised. After disassembling everything, I painted everything with Kilz primer and then with house paint, since again that's what I had on hand at no cash outlay. That's all the wood and all the metal, including the tray. Since seven years have gone by since this video was made, I'm wondering how your barrow is holding up? One thing that should be emphasized with wheelbarrows, I think, is that they are vehicles that need to be inspected, maintained and repaired ----not neglected until they don't work. Inspect and maintain your wheelbarrow and it will provide much longer and more reliable service ----such as by greasing or oiling those bolts before the threads corrode away and the only way to disassemble the barrow to maintain it is to cut the bolts and replace them. I also favor stenciling on the maximum recommend load for your barrow. I'd bet that many barrows are damaged by loads that are too heavy. The max recommended load, stenciled on the tray where it faces the operator, seems like it would be a good reminder.

Is that a life jacket/ best? Been seeing similar wear on other videos. I've been using skiers and want to up grade on for paddling. It not comfortable in the kind I've been using.

i just bought a used Old Town Guide Solo 119 . it's 11'9" long, 32 1/2" wide weighs about 50-55 lbs . i don't think they make this one anymore . that one you have weighing only 33 lbs would be much nicer . BUT . . . i do not regret buying mine ! Looks like the kayak paddle is they way to go . i'll carry both !

Excellent idea....but I see you needed stronger trees and some racheting to give it some more tension....but it's strong and will hold more then just your weight...like your pack and everything you would carry

Historically, the great kilt bottom should sit at the top of your knee (some wore it even higher.) It looks like you're working with far too much material. Great effort.

Those cord stirrups are not safe! If your canoe ever overturned and your feet got trapped in the stirrups you could drown! Adjustable foot braces that are often used in kayaks are available online for as little as $20 and they work very well. I installed a pair in my Old Town Otter and love them.

Is that saddle lake? It's a pretty morning with the fog. Great find on the unused Pack. You should have tried it in the stock configuration first just for comparison. I think I would have liked it better with just the seat lowered a bit for single blade paddling but I am a traditional canoe guy. I keep trying to get a Pack but they disappear quickly when offered. I'm still happy with my 14' Wenonah Vagabond in Royalex. It's 9 pounds heavier but almost 3 inches more narrow than the Pack and I think it probably tracks better. I tried one of the OT 119 boats and it waddled like a duck!

I have had a pack canoe for 27 years. Love my kayakcanoe! Installed 2nd thwart where seat used to be. I sit in a boat cushion on the floor, lean back against a 2nd boat cushion leaning against 2nd thwart. Double ended kayak paddle for locomotion. It’s like a little sports car on the water!

Knowing there are so many minty RX canoes in garages all over the country, longing to be in the water, keeps me up at night. If anyone has, or knows of a Pack, Hunter, or 15' Camper or anything close in RX from MR, Dagger etc. being held prisoner, ready to escape, it would really help me get some sleep. 😏😉

Lower end of the poles are telescopic, with detent ball bearings. No need for pvc
