Thanks for the review. To be fair to the designers, I'd say what you call a negative about the valve could only be fixed by taking away the positive about it (easy to get find / access). The ease of rocking it to empty water from the tank seems to be part of the design as well as it is in line with the legs and feet you point out protect it fairly well.
@CroakyOakКүн бұрын
I can’t disagree. As others have pointed out, finding any issues with this compressor requires some work and any ‘negatives’ are a bit picayune. It’s my opinion that for a review to be an actual review and not an ersatz ad, I need to present some downsides. However minor those issues may be. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have the Koch system and am at a loss as to how to sharpen and hone straight tools like short knives because of the lack of space for the handle when sharpening one side of the blade. I've taken one of the wheels off of each end to allow for more space, but it still doesn't allow room for the handle to be out of the way of the motor, thus the blade is not flat against the wheel. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!
@CroakyOak23 сағат бұрын
I think I’ve seen a video where a kitchen knife was sharpened by running the knife diagonally across the wheel. I have some links to Koch System videos in the description of my review of the Koch System. That video can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpi2qZ6adpqYpZI I usually mount the wheels I have in a wood lathe which gives me more clearance that I could get in any other way. Obviously, this isn’t useful if you don’t have a wood lathe. 😳 Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.

I suffer when you mess up the tools...haha...nice video. Can you describe the material of the wheel? I can't buy it by local issues. Do you have a video sharpening tne V gouge? I'm still struggling with it in hand wood carving. Greetings from Argentina, thanks for the videos.
@CroakyOak24 күн бұрын
The wheel in this video is a hard cotton wheel. However, the wheel isn’t the key to this system. It’s the sharpening compound that really does the work. The compound is formulated to melt from the heat generated by pressing the tool into the rotating wheel. Although the Nora Hall System does make quick work of sharpening v-groove tools, I have not made a video on sharpening v-groove tools specifically. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hiya, this may sound an odd question, but what is the patent number for this ?. I only a few days ago discovered this tool even existed. About four years ago I made something similar for burring my negative rake scrapers and it's similar, but at the same time quite different. I recently came up with a way to significantly improve it and thought I'd start making & selling them. In the process of trying to find a supplier for burnishing rods I found this and kinda shattered my plans.
@CroakyOak27 күн бұрын
I have no idea. You might be able to find something at leevalley dot com. Lee Valley is the company that makes and sells this jig. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.
@max.fleming104527 күн бұрын
@CroakyOak thank you very much for responding and that explains why I couldn't find a patent for Veritas. I'm in the UK and I can only find one company that actually sells this tool & they're out of stock. PS, I developed my tool with negative rake scrappers in mind which largely uses shallower Bevel angles and would ride up that cone burnisher even more. Mine doesn't suffer that problem. I've also incorporated a fulcrum, but mine is adjustable instead of fixed to better incorporate different scrapper profiles . Thank you again for responding and happy new year!.
@max.fleming104527 күн бұрын
@@CroakyOak PS. I can't buy this tool in the UK currently , but if it does have a patent then it'll have a patent number clearly indicated on the tool. If I know the number I can Google it & read the patent.

The grinder in this video has a 5/8-11 imperial thread. If you’re considering a purchase, check the specifications of the *exact* model you are looking at. Often the only difference from one model to the next is a single feature like the spindle thread or the type of switch. Good luck with your grinder and thanks for watching and commenting.

How about some actual data. Most automotive style,paint guns run between 8-12 CFM. I’ve piggybacked 2 compressors to get away with spraying interlux 2-part Perfection on a 20 foot boat. Note: this paint like Awlgrip has to be sprayed at one go because whatever flow out you get is the gloss you get in a set time

Drilling and tapping any metals, you need to lubricate the bit. Great video, though. It trashes our carbides, but it does work well. You would think a tool rest with X/Y dials that sits in the frog of a wood lathe for light metal turning would be a thing, lol.

How do you over winter them in the Pots? So you let them just stay outside? Or do you bring them in to a garage?
@CroakyOak4 ай бұрын
I don’t have any place to put my plants, so they all have to stay outside. If I don’t insulate the pots -the rest of the plant remains exposed- most of the varieties I’ve tried have not survived the winter. When I’ve grouped the potted plants together and surrounded the pots with mulched leaves, nearly everything survives. Protecting potted blueberry plants from the cold is only part of the deal. Varmints, especially rabbits, can decimate unprotected blueberry plants. I’ve had rabbits get past fencing and eat younger plants right down to the ground. Good luck with your blueberries and thanks for watching and commenting.

I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@astrid58706 ай бұрын
Could you explain more what you mean please? I'm completely new to all of this😅
@bottmar16 ай бұрын
@astrid5870. Whenever you file, disc sand, belt sand or grind a new edge lt is usually better to have the edge towards you while use your tool of choice away from you. Otherwise you are rolling a thin section of metal over that has to be removed on the other side of the blade. That rolled metal is called a burr. This applies to knife sharpening too. With filing you may not get much of a burr but filing is only good for blades that have no stone nicks or damage. I usually grind my blades by clamping the blade in a vice so that the edge is pointed up and then grind with a 4 1/2" Harbor Freight electric grinder with sparks flying down. You can see the edge the whole time you are grinding and know immediately when to stop removing metal. Those grinders are as little as $15 and the stones are as little as $1 a piece. All the other methods I see on KZbin are either harder to do or more costly. After 54 years at metal working in businesses and in my own auto repair shop I am not new to proper procedures on blade sharpening. I hope this helps.
