This is a Lazy-Boy recliner. The easiest of all recliners to work on. But Not every recliner is built this way.

Mine broke in the same spot as the thumbnail 😩 i was hoping you were fixing that
@the323vlog4Күн бұрын
I used to see that quite frequently at my old job. They’d use OSB for the front rail and they’d just snap in half. Sometimes, you’d be able to tip it over, put enough pressure on the broken board to straighten it out and install a board behind it stating the crack. That usually would work. Other alternative is replacing that whole Board

Can I use this to remove paint from an aluminum boat?
@the323vlog4Күн бұрын
Depends on how worn out the finish is, but it is not great at removing durable paint jobs. A commercial sand blaster would be more appropriate

What is the solvent you use? How do you seal it? I’ve used spray lacquer, but it doesn’t give me the right finish.
@the323vlog47 күн бұрын
I use WilPro padding finish from Mohawk. Sealer depends on what finish is on there to begin with, but the lacquer works for me usually. You’d obviously have to adjust the sheen to match accordingly

My problem is slightly different on a simpler scissor footrest - odd thing are the bracket fasteners...they kinda look like bigger rivets ...they are located at each end of the bracket ---Don't know what they are called but would be helpful to know. This is what I have done...I drilled those pins out...took the 2 brackets, put on a vice, straightened , then re-installed them with nuts and bolts. ( fasteners were drilled out ) Would be much nicer to buy the bracket with 2 new pins and swap out what in most cases are 2 brackets that are warped. Can't imagine the amount of chairs thrown out for a simple bent bracket that should be replaceable. Thx for the vid.......and no ...I wouldn't take it out and bash it on the driveway....if it leaves the house, its on the curb.

How about disconnecting an arm? (In my case the sections are connected to each other via interlocking brackets.)
@the323vlog48 күн бұрын
Sometimes the arms also connect via interlocking brackets, otherwise, open g uk the bottom you’ll spot a few screws or bolts attaching them. Other times, they don’t always design Them to come apart

My chair just stopped functioning. I have re-seated all of the wired connections. Tested another plug, the two button switch when either button is bushed motor turns on and sounds, no motion (switch has integrated USB and that functions as well. Seems to be something internally with Linear Actuator. Any suggestions?
@the323vlog417 күн бұрын
Is there another recliner with a linear actuator you could use in the home to diagnose it?
@pharpester17 күн бұрын
I was actually able to figure it out. I removed the linear actuator and carefully opened it up and discovered that the motor spindle was not aligned with the jack screw, once I re-aligned it and tightened the set screw at the end it started working again. Thank you for your content, which helped me out

My Ashley Recliner (4661425) appears to use AT LEAST 2 springs to keep the footrest closed.. but maybe 4... is that possible? One spring went flying off and is 4 5/8" long (11/16 coil diameter, 1 3/4" 20-turn coil body).. but there's another that's broken but looks like the standard 3 1/2" long spring. Despite the mechanical frame looking totally symetric, the 3.5" broken spring is only on the left side! And since the other broken spring that flew out looks different, not sure if the recliner uses 2 sets of each.

I hope this is just a demo of how to finish a piano case because this Cable drop action spinet might be worth $200 if that. Not speculation, I sold one pretty well regulated and in tune for only $250 and they sound like crap. My point is, the job you did far exceeded the cost of the piano. I do admire that you did a good job.

If you scoot your headboard away from the wall, you should cease several dozen screws going in from the backside into the panel. It’s as easy as removing them usually and it should pop right off.

I have a manual Lane recliner that recently had its footrest break, when fully extended, the handle over rotates and it falls to the floor. Not finding anything obvious underneath to tighten, have any insight? Happy to share pictures. Thanks!
Please forgive my ignorance, but does this just plug into a wall or does this have to be connected to air compressor?

This was awful he didn't show the connection with the pins or explain how many pins there are. Or if an adjustment needs done to reduce from 5 pins to 4 pins. Guys tell the whole story .
@the323vlog42 ай бұрын
All of that information is irrelevant to what I am aiming to show in this video, which is how to replace an identical switch when you already have it. They are almost always 5 Pin. I’ve never heard of a reduction to four pins.

You are a life saver! Tysm for this video!!!! Can you please tell me where you got the leather from and the exact color? For years, I've been dealing with this torn-up California king headboard. The bed is sentimental to me, but it's in such bad shape that it's stressing me out peeling and shedding for so long. Also, I don't have staples on my headboard, but it has round circular metal pieces embedded into the edges of the leather. Do you know if those are removable, and if I could use a staple remover to remove them as well?
