Your video pretty much answered my question. I have a Hypermotard I normally run Pirelli Rosso IV on, but want a more versatile longer lasting tire. Looks like the Mutant did fine on the track. Can you add any other details regarding performance/handling in the dry?
@michaelleys2982 Жыл бұрын
this is the best tyre ever made ; touring yes lots of km ore ml yes street racing yes; wet driving yes summer hot days yes track days wet and dry yes what more do you need ooooh wait light gravel roads yes

mate this is awesome you should be a rep for Dunlop with this video. Most effective review for a tyre I've come across in years. Kudos

dear smiffy, nice ride on you'r bmw. I have a question. Last year I was at TT Assen (Netherlands) with the mutants in my bike. but I had little or no grip. Sliding everywhere even in 3rd gear on the straight. Maybe my tire pressure wasn't right. What pressure did you run at? thanks in advance for your response! Greatz, Jan

Hi, I ran mine at 34psi front and 28 rear

@@smiffy7759 Thanks for you'r response. Did you measure it cold or warm?
@apriliars2507 Жыл бұрын
I'll use this as a starting point. do you also feel a lot of movement in the rear when you drive on a wet track.
@smiffy7759 Жыл бұрын
@@apriliars2507 yes I did, they grip well but ultimately they are still a road based tyre and not a full race wet tyre. I also run Pirelli intermediate tyres which will also move on a wet as opposed to damp track

Please update us with the mileage you get out of them on your GSA, I've just fitted them to my GS. Ride is harder than A41's as a first impression, due to the quite knobbly tread I suppose, feel every imperfection in the road. Will see how they perform through the winter as I ride for fun in all weathers.

Awesome riding. You really can’t tell it’s wet, because your going so fast! Quick question... How do the Mutants compare to a Sports Touring tyre for dry grip?
@smiffy77593 жыл бұрын
They work really well, I also have a set on my R1250GSA on the road, dry grip is superb and very predictable.
@vixjayindy48283 жыл бұрын
@@smiffy7759 thanks for that. Thinking of getting a set for my Versys 1000. Currently looking at Roadtec 01 SE, Roadsmart IV and Battlax T32. But if dry grip on the Mutants is as good as those then the Mutants look like a super choice. I’m not looking for longevity just dry and wet grip. Thanks again.
@vixjayindy48283 жыл бұрын
@@smiffy7759 Have you ever used them on track in the dry? Do they last ok?
@smiffy77593 жыл бұрын
@@vixjayindy4828 yes, used them at a damp Cadwell Park, that’s where the vid was done👍 They lasted and performed great considering there not meant for a 200hp Superbike on a race track😂😂👍
@vixjayindy48283 жыл бұрын
@@smiffy7759 that’s bloody awesome. I only thought it was wet from reading one of the comments. So it was damp but fairly dry? The tyres looked amazingly ok considering the abuse you were giving them with that beast. I fancy taking the Versys on the odd track day next year, so looks like even a hot dry day with me dawdling round, the Mutants should be fine?
