Antiquated procedure. Today is 2024, video was 2013. Procedure has changed, this was done is Australia. The procedure here in the US as of 2024 is much simpler and safer.

Great point, this technique is to be used when your standard approach doesn't work. It is a simple way to try to achieve a view when normal epiglottoscopy doesn't give you the landmarks required.

I’m surprised you didn’t also comment on what seems to be a re-occurring issue / accepted technique. In several videos the operator isn’t in the valecula / up against the hyoepiglottic ligament - but instead - the operator is on the epiglottis - pushing the epiglottis down and flipping it over on itself, the operator accepted this, and tried to proceed. We have seen this as well in our service - and it’s a learning point - that needs to be recognized. It’s making me think - hmmmmm

Doing CPR in a moving vehicle is super dangerous. So much so that unless you have an auto pulse or LUCAS, we really need to be working them in the field until ROSC or terminate resuscitation efforts after 20-30 min of CPR in the field. As a matter of fact, this is now the standard or care across the word

There were so many pauses in CPR. The rate was closer to 80 bpm rather than 100-120. The patient wasn't ventilated for large portions of the CPR. Chest compressions were not continued following defib. A pulse check is not advised following defib for 2 mins of CPR. Overall poor-quality CPR. I do understand that it is not easy given the moving vehicle and high stress, but this is what we train for.

Agreed. And why did they have the stretcher so high when being wheeled in and out of the truck? That just makes CPR even more difficult...

I never knew that. So that was the large iv that given me when nurse failed to find my vien when I have heart surgery two years ago. I was unable to see it so that doesn't scare me. It does hurt a bit when numbing my skin. But afterwards, I just felt a some pressure of putting a needle in me. That is incredible. That small procedure was almost 10 mins for setting me up
