I am Yūsuf Paterson from Toronto, Canada. I was born into a Christian family and I met Mr. Saban Uzumcu in 2001. He was a great teacher, when I was 16 I discovered Islam through Mr. Saban Uzumcu and I converted to Islam. Alhamdulillah, I have made many changes since then that have brought happiness to my life. Thanks Mr. Saban for showing the truth and helping me walk on the righteous path. Allah takes away who he loves the most, Mr. Saban was so kind and generous throughout his life. May Allah grant his soul peace and divine blessing and grant him Jannah. Ameen.

ALLAH YERHAMO. Ya Rabb, give my brother Shaban Uzumcu the highest rank of Jannat-ul-Firdaus and reward him all his good deeds. May Allah (SWT) raise him with the saliheen and shuhada... Aameen

Every five times I sit for namaaz, I remember Dr. Uzumcu and pray for him. May Allah make him pass the life Akhirah and grant him Jannat-ul-Firdaus. I reverted to Islam in November 2004. While I was growing up, I was raised Catholic. I attended a Catholic high school. After meeting Dr. Uzumcu, my first year in college I became interested in learning about Islam. Dr. Uzumcu taught me Islam and I took my Shahadah. Before I came to Islam my name was David, after I became Muslim I chose the name Dāwūd. It is truly an honor and privilege to learn from him. Tears coming from my eyes, may Allah rest his soul in eternal peace. He will always be alive in our hearts.

There is no greater weapon than prayer, no grater refuge than God. Let us join our hearts and pray for Dr. Uzumcu. May your soul rest in peace. I hope to meet you again where there's no fear of death.

We will all miss Dr. Uzumcu, he touched so many of our lives. Peace in your eternal and rest in paradise, be with God.

I took my Shahada 12 years ago front of Brother Shaban. This man read Surah Fatiha and two verses of Surah Baqarah, and I reverted to Islam. Brother Shaban gave me the Noble Quran and I opened it and begun to read. Alhamdulillah Brother Shaban teached me everything. Allah hears our duas. May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest peak of Jannah. May Allah, Rahmanir Rahim expands his grave and lights it with his blessings. Allahu Akbar.

He made a difference in the lives he touched. Dr. Uzumcu made such a profound impact on our lives and should be honored as a hero. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. May you be granted the peace you deserve.
