buddy i understand in Brittan there are not venomous snakes, but you really should sleep off the ground. bugs and suck aside, the ground lowers your core temp. if you are going to sleep on the ground, dig a hole to build a large fire the size of your body and let it burn to coals, then bury the coals. it will heat the ground up and keep your core temp up. if you can't do that then get off the ground just a few inches, and that will keep your temp up.

I dont think most primitive people had stocking caps, just my opinion, hair would be hard to cut and more usefull as a natural hat.

ahhhahahahhahhaaahhhaahhhahahahhhahahhahhaaaaaaaaaaah.. thank you i haven't laughed like that since the last 'off-grid" ON IPHONE video i heckled...(a few minutes ago). this guy is too much.. comes out in caveman costume and starts talking to the IPHONE he set up himself to film himself playing caveman camp in the woods all by himself.. good old MEtube is rec'n up some classics. just curious but how many hours a week do you play dress up in front of your phone? then editing.. wow next level narcissism here folks. almost as bad as the guntubers, and off-griders...almost. and it ain't 'solo' guy when you have the whole world with you at your fingertips..

that lean to sucks even if the rain comes straight down he will still get soaking wet. It's just to small for protection from the elements or anything else for that matter. I don't this our ancestors would have been that careless even way back then.

Instant subscriber. Not too many reenacting the Paleolithic/Neolithic, and those who do among my favorites here. Surely the most difficult;t to reenact, the farther back we go. Thanks for what you do. Heaven help me if I ever have to use a friction method anywhere but under ideal desert conditions. I wonder if our Paleolithic ancestors had striker methods--- flint and pyrite? Pyrite so rare though so maybe not. For me always striker first, with carried dry tinder. If conditions are unfavorable for striker (without carried tinder), likely friction will then be even more difficult. Love the cuisine. Eat tree fruit: strong!. Drink tree leaf: refreshing! Eat wrack: smooth, salty! Eat weed: dance around! Eat mushroom: sit very, very still. Cheers!

Otzi the iceman was found with a flint and pyrite striker so we know that average people were using them during the Neolithic. I’d wager flint striking methods go back even further than that though, possibly even older than friction fires. The ancient flint striking methods are very difficult though since they didn’t have steel and the steel is key for getting that good high temp spark, so the ancient version of it would’ve still been challenging, no more or less than the bow drill.

I wonder why the shelter's roof is so sharply short barely covering your bald head it might catch some cold.. Roofs are supposed to have an overhang but yours are like a 90°right angled almost short to the outer most part of your body lying down..

@@yoiyomismo Perfectly-put on both accounts-it’s like a huge naked cat opening up an ancient buried-chest, rummaging through it and then discovering a really old, large onesie covered in orange and white fur with black stripes, putting the whole thing on and then realising he/she’s found their ancestral garbs and as they wear it they suddenly realise after a life feeling lost and wandering in misery they’ve found their way home🍻🔥
