@Joe-blogcomposerКүн бұрын
I agree that’s my favourite! BUT requires the full version of Kontakt so didn’t qualify for this video :/ as it’s not technically free

Norrland solo trumpet should definitely be on this list.

I would have love to have added it, along with musical sampling trumpet freebie but they require the full version of kontakt which takes them out of the bracket of “completely free” as I said in the beginning of the video.

They no longer have a monthly price option. The way it’s worded is weird if you’re not careful I thought I was going to pay $16 but $199 came off my card for a year plan. They have no phone customer service only email. I had the monthly plan before but couldn’t login so I attempted it with a new email. They are actually still trying to charge for monthly even though they say it doesn’t exist anymore. It’s criminal.

This was pretty amazing. I just subscribed, and I hope that by following your weekly free samples, I'll run across something I can use -- especially samplers for saxophone, flute, violin or harmonica. I've done a lot of recording and mixing over the last twenty years, but mostly for my own vocals and acoustic guitar. You could randomly click a few places on the following video clip to get an idea of my current sound and accompanying technical limitations. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ7OZad6Yrp5hsU Anyway, sampling will be a new experience and new learning curve for me, and I hope you won't mind if I ask a couple of newbie questions. 1. Is there a way to generate tones by pressing different keys on a computer keyboard as opposed to connecting the type of musical keyboard shown in your video clip? (I can try to connect my 1980's Casio keyboard as an input device, but I'm not all that optimistic about whether that will work.) 2. I've had a very catchy original tune running through my head since last summer, and I'd really like to use it as an opening theme song for a creative project I'm pitching. I'm wondering if it would make more sense to just do a bare-bones recording of the melody and percussion and then enlist the aid of a sampling expert to turn it into something a lot more polished and flashy. Thanks for reading this note. I realize it might take time for you to respond. - Dean Lesner

Define Konakt “Full”?!?! 😂 Would this brass instrument be free and accessible with any kind of paid kontakt bundle or does full refer to the biggest, most expensive option? I am actively looking for these answers myself, not just expecting someone tell me everything but it’s not that straight forward for my autistic brain to piece together! 😂 I write music with someone in my studio now I’m unfit to work. We record stuff to a pretty high standard and it always seems a shame to add a brass idea that sounds like it came off a school keyboard back in the 90s! We’re realising that these instrument packs all have their strengths and weaknesses and some packs only offer clusters of instruments playing as ensembles rather than solo, which means you can be paying serious money to tool yourself up with decent VI options. You have to know what it is you’re looking for to avoid tail-chasing. In our case, we’re seeking solo instruments that provide nuance of articulation and control so we can layer up a small number of “real players”, simulating like people coming in and doing little overrun lines without it sounding distractingly unrealistic.

A bit resource-hungry plugin (depending on the instrument), but worth trying. Since buying an Arturia MiniFuse 1 audio interface, I have the Intro version of this plugin with 500 sounds. There are also free sound packs in the store. During the Christmas sale, I managed to buy the V Collection, which drastically expands the possibilities, giving you over 10,000 patches and the ability to edit them on a specific instrument.

Hi there - nice video and piece. I got this library, I love it. A question though - what's up with the timbre slider? Everyone I have seen has to use their mouse, including Rob in the Westwood showcases, which seems a bit strange, no? Do you happen to know if they are going to implement a CC to this or am I missing something? I also found that when using Low Strings, playing a G flat while changing the timbre with my mouse seemed to destroy the sample kinda, started bugging out. Anyway keep up the great work.

Do you use this on top of VSTs like EastWest Hollywood orchestra?
@Joe-blogcomposer18 күн бұрын
Gernally I'll use it for the insitial scoring if i'm doing a piece that will be performed by a live orchestra, but then i'll export the midi and use VSTs in Logic Pro X
@alkishadjinicolaou583117 күн бұрын
@@Joe-blogcomposer I see, however why not use VSTs like EastWest directly? I see that the sound of NP4 is not up to par with those more professional sounds?
@Joe-blogcomposer17 күн бұрын
@alkishadjinicolaou5831 I prefer the flexibility of working in Logic Pro X and ability to use a variety of differnet sample libraries. I personally use BBCSO pro by spitfire but enjoy mixing it with some of fracture sounds legato libraries and other companies. If I’m writing a score to be performed I’m not too concerned with the quality but would rather use a scoring software then logic and don’t own any of the EastWest orchestra samples, espially when I already own comparable libraries I don’t feel a need to buy them
@alkishadjinicolaou583117 күн бұрын
@@Joe-blogcomposer OK I was just making a note of why use NP4 which is not "perfect" whilst you have other libraries which are. I understand your workflow, I used to work in the same way (and still do in many cases) with MuseScore and Ableton Live. I just find it makes more sense to write your music once rather than exporting it to a DAW. I use Dorico for that and as I said I still use MuseScore in some cases because I like the sounds.
