We’ve just booked this’ I’m surprised to hear you have to pay for beach beds at $4000+ a week 😮 also, is smoking a problem or is it restricted? I’m praying there’s no smoking in bars/terraces/by the pools etc?

It’s awful here. Old rotten food, roaches, loud music till 12pm, paper thin walls, nothing relaxing abt it. I am here now. Mgt is a nightmare. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

Was it safe to rent a car and drive to Tulum as well as drive to playa del Carmen? I heard they drive like maniacs and it’s best to get a cab?

Yes, we found it safe and easy to navigate. Signalling seems optional but driving wasn’t too different than Canada.
