Put a chunk of aloe on your wound, bandage up and change every morning and evening. Works like a charm, and cheap!! It works!!! Some patience and perseverance is required !!

Interesting. So there are four types to pressure ulcers, the first being discoloration from the surrounding tissue, second type is necrosis limited to the dermis, third is full thickness, and fourth is showing tendon or muscle.

Studies show that my wound is closing up faster after dealing with the intense pain of letting it go without the bandaging....why is this? I kept a bandage on it for a month and it never healed. Left the bandage off and let it oxygenate and dealt with the pain. Now it finally is closing up

Mine started as a tiny scab then got itchy, then painful. The wound grew into one big ulcer that got infected by MRSA. Your video did not mention pain. My ulcer caused the most excruciating pain that had me crying and screaming for 2 weeks. It felt like my foot was sitting in a fire. Tylenol and ibuprofen is all I had and they didn’t help. I really wanted my foot amputated to stop the pain!! 😢😢😢

Hi, Clinical hours are not required to take the course. If you want to take the certification exam, you must have three years of clinical experience. According to the ABWM, three years of wound care experience can be acquired throughout your career. It does not necessarily have to be a consecutive three years. Wound care does not have to be your primary responsibility during that time as long as you can demonstrate you have had roles related to wound care throughout your career. for more information visit www.woundeducators.com

my wound care specialist made my ulcers worse in chula vista ca 91911, was there for two years they used to order the wrong pads everytime… as a medical practitioner (retired) i found an ointment that really cures been using it since August and high improvements, if you need that info, would give it for a fee… ( NOTHING IS FREE ANYMORE )

Ive had Pyoderma gangrenosum on my shin for 8 years. At this point the largest size it has increased to is 17.5×32.5 cm, but it is currently 13x 21cm. Most drs dont know what it is or how to treat it. So thankfully they had some infectious disease drs at my clinic one day and they all diagnosed it together. Since then it has been a series of going to the Er because it smells so bad and i think its infected to countless dr visits and going on amd off medications for my rheumatoid arthritus, but getting regular wound care has been the single most effective treatment thus far. For people that are suffering with it, i truley wish you the best.

To accelerate wound healing a no contact dressing works well. It is called Podophylus antimicrobial Insole and DermaDomus, both allow oxygen in the wound…. dr. Winters did his job in pigs 🐷 not in humans. The moist wound works very well but it’s very expensive.

What if you didn't apply a skin sealant to the areas of intact skin that will be covered by the film dressing to prevent maceration from happening?

It bugs me years ago the first thing they did for an open wound was soak in iodine and water now also selenium might help as they are on strands of DNA AND IODINE HAS ANTI BACTERIA PROPERTIES. What about silver colloid that is powerfull to both internal and external.

One word maceration!!! ..I disagree with these studies!!! ..yes moist wounds do heal faster.who cares about speed though. I’m firm on the fact that dry wound healing is actually better.i have found that wound dehiscence is far more common in moist wounds due to macerated tissue..plus scabs keep bacteria out better than a dressing imo. Scabs also protect a wound..and if that’s not enough, bacteria multiplies at a faster rate in a moist environment.unless you are an extremely clean ultra hygienic person and live a sedimentary lifestyle like working at home ..i despite what popular belief says,..strongly recommend DRY wound healing..don’t blindly follow the crowd..they are often wrong…don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.people now days want everything to be faster ! Faster! Faster! ..I’m hear to tell you for wounds faster is NOT better for wound healing.there is far more risks and complications associated with the “faster” wound healing..play it safe keep it old school .let your wound dry out!

Thank you! A young nurse told me my severed finger tip wound was too wet and encouraged me to dry it out and leave bandages off more. It got infected and really hurt for the first time. Now over a month later I'm still in the proliverative stage and Im angry at the nurse for the delay in my healing process 😪
