Aren't the Dutch descendants of Norsemen? I visualize them as having been large, warrior-types.

LES Yeah the Norse, Swedes,Danes,Saxons,Jutes, Goths Dutch,( Deutsch) are all of the same ancient Germanic peoples. They were constantly invading Rome . There descendants ended up being the Vikings that raided from Russia , to France even round Spain in to the Mediterranean Sea

Jietze Miedema Thats an interesting fact about Fanny Blankers Koen . That big Icelandic man known as the mountain reminds me of some of the huge Dutchmen I’ve seen in the past . I was working years ago cleaning and doing maintenance for a school and there was a man I worked with . He spoke of his wife often and said she was from Holland didn’t think much of it. One day she came by with him and I was floored . She was easy 6’ with a beautiful face , skin like a baby was big boned a really curvy. Sort of like Anna Nicole but with a prettier face . I don’t believe in staring so I hope the shock didn’t register on my face - she was married. I was thinking I thought women like this only existed in cartoons. I really believe that the Swedes and Dutch were once much larger but since the advent of fire power in Europe the largest and most powerful Europeans have been obliterated again and again and again. Not to mention the millions of men who were killed in the Napoleanic wars and the blood baths of the 20 century which as repeatedly killed of the best of Europe’s men way to many time. The Czarz of Russia , All the Prussian Monarchs, Napoleon all scoured the hills and valleys of Europe for its largest and most powerful men to use as the body guards and elite fighting men. Most the time these men were zeroed in on and never saw the end of the war.
