There was mention of Genesee County Animal Control wanting to move where they have more space, in this morning's live chat. Animal Control is in Flint Township, and I'd like to see it moved inside Flint City. I've recently had to find out the legal details of Dog Licenses and enforcement of State Law. I suspect less than half of dogs in Genesee County are licensed with Rabies shots, neither Animal Control, nor County Treasurer Office want to enforce the law requiring licensing, thus allowing my neighbor to have 5 unlicensed dogs next door loose to attack me, and 2 more across street. The videos I have is sufficient Probably Cause for search warrant, and why would neighbor hide dogs if licensed to another address inside County as Michigan Law requires, since not licensed to the address the dogs are living at. This knowledge has given me leverage to force Animal Control to keep visiting neighbor, but they're playing games of notification to Township Supervisor who calls family of my neighbor to hide dogs before Animal Control gets there. Then they say they're trying to find out if unlicensed dogs are there. Present County Treasurer is leaving before further addressing this, the new County Treasurer will have to deal with this if we force him to by knowing the Law, and publicizing about the law and County Treasurer's reactions for being responsible for enforcement of State Dog License Laws. Law is written to perhaps allow County Treasurer Office to waive enforcement of Dog License, which would make it an election issue for County Treasurer to be elected upon. Let's run someone for County Treasurer that will make Dog License enforcement a campaign promise, to ensure public safety and Rabies.
