Why not go with something a bit more classic like a LT350 or a 327 something more period correct.

I prefer the modern fuel injection and the 6 speed automatic. I've used this same combination a few times, and it makes a nice cruiser in and out of town.

@@ValueKustoms okay on the fuel injection there are plenty of throttle body and multiport bolt ons for the older models. And that girl should have a manual if you really want to boogie (fun fact you can cruise in fifth gear 😉

@jeremypilot1015 already owned the donor van, so that is what I used. Check out my channel, there is a big block 4 speed chevelle in the stable. On leg workout days we fire that up and have fun!

If you are going to use oil to prevent the rust return, then you have to treat it anytime you wash it. I recommend doing it on the hottest days possible. However, waxing would be a better option.

Very practical vehicle - 60's 2wd pickup with a 6. Actually the 292 was a powerful 6. I like all the room to get at stuff ender the hood.

Nice job mate.looks so much better. I have used flood for years now. The best way i have found how to apply it is Thinning flood with mineral spirits/turps 3:1 ratio. Thinning it lets it soak into old paint and it helps it level out like glass. I use a old cotton t-stirt (dont use microfibre clothes) and wipe it on. If you want a more of a satin/semi gloss finish apply a coat to the truck and then get dry clean cotton rag and give it a light hand buff we it is still tacky. Hope this helps

He's to old to do anything with it. I know if someone showed up with cash you could get it cheap. Under 2000. It has a little rust in the cab corners. Original 327 long bed truck in Adairsville, Georgia
