Love you Barry,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,You should be at that show. That would have been spectacular to see you there and see what you would sing......................You are THE MAN OF THE HOUR. I miss the 80's and early 90's really bad. In less than two months, I'm hitting the half century mark and will confirm to the world that the universe was so much better in the 80's and early 90's. God I want to go back.

Bobby Rivers was fun. I watched vh1 when I was young. I remember Bobby, Tim, Roger, and Rosie. Kathleen in the breaks. The music shaped my musical tastes before I turned 10, and finding old clips like these are rare. Thank you for posting these vidchecks. Add more if you can. 🙂 Rest in peace, Bobby.

What a great dancer and choreographer. Wayne was often at our house in the late 1960's. He graduated high school with my dear sister. Everybody loves Wayne. Thanks for the up-load @MagneticTapeHead

Que hermosa balada nos dejó el gran greg!!! Amo esta canción y esta dentro de las baladas más hermosas de la historia ❤❤❤
I watched this on a regular basis. Not as good as Siskel & Ebert of course but it was still an enjoyable series. Always enjoyed Rex Reed even if I didn't agree with him. If he hated something he'd do it in a fun entertaining way. Great writer too. I don't follow today's films but I like reading his reviews of them because he's such a great writer. Fun Fact: He gave a good review to BURNT OFFERINGS. Whatta guy. I love that film too.

I got to think SNC failed because they were ahead of their time. I wonder how many lost their jobs and how many got absorbed into CNN. All, but the very young just out of college, wherever they did end up working, are probably retired by now, along with many deceased. :(

i was 11 in 83, my Father never censored me and Star 80 was on cable constantly for awhile. my Father and his friends would often watch while they were hanging out, presumably because of the nudity and i of course as an 11 year old was watching it all the time on my own for the same reason. but even then i really did understand what a heartbreaking and tragic true story it is. a story of a really vile self absorbed person trying to use a fairly sheltered and sweet young women for his own attention and then trying to suffocate her as she grows, basically literally later on as he stopped getting his way. i lived in Oklahoma and Silkwood was also a standard on cable for awhile and all the more jarring for me as a kid because it took place here. there are still not satisfactory answers in that case. Terms Of Endearment and The Right Stuff are of course classics and wonderful films. some of these others i do not even remember, i may have to look them up. and of course some of my favorite films did not even make either list. but mostly i just look around at the shallow fare we have being released these days, really miss films with some humanity and heartbreak and joy.

1976 Vic Alfonso Toyota in Eugene. My dad bought a 1976 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Wagon, Mustard Yellow & had it all my childhood. Then in 1999 when I was 24 he gave it to me with 190000 original miles on it. I drove to work in Corvallis & totaled it on Hwy. 99 near fiddlers green. I fell asleep at the wheel having been up all night fighting with my now ex-wife… A Great car though, I owned two in my life. I loved both of em!

That’s definitely not original member Beary Hobbs on Bass Vocals but he seemed to have been with Charlie Thomas for YEARS. At least from the reunion in 1958-60 in the original group and then 1969 when they reformed to his death in 1996. Maybe he left for a while? Idk. I know his wife, Odessa formed the “Beary Hobbs’ Drifters” as a tribute act but Mr. Hobbs himself never actually sang with them as he’d already died to my knowledge.

At 7:31 the audio is silenced on the "Ripley's Believe It or Not" end credits, and we don't hear the title theme by Henry Mancini as well as voice over credits for ABC's programs airing on KATU and ABC. And we once had our own family relatives from Oregon, who were living in the Pacific Northwest after they moved from Arizona.

Absolutely fantastic old documentary. Fascinating hearing them discuss The Green River killer at the time it was happening. Thank goodness the epidemic of serial killers in the 80's dropped down to less alarming propertions.
