This wasn't bad, but I felt like he under utilized Shawn Colvin by a bunch. I would have loved to hear her harmonies on the verses that Jackson did solo. It was still better than 99% of what you hear today.

Here we are and I still watch this beautiful performance of her original material... I don't just cry, I squirt tears. Purely lyrical, melodical and spiritual!

Extraordinary! Some moron has responded to the posting above categorically stating that Gary Louris and The Jayhawks are not responsible for this composition. They must be confusing this with the same titled John Cale song, and consequently do not possess The Jayhawks' The Sound of Lies, one of the finest albums of the 90s! Either way they apparently know bugger all about either artist, as musically the two pieces have nothing in common.

Gary Louris has a wonderful ability to compose an intoxicating melancholic yet irresistibly joyful sounding racket. Should anyone doubt or require proof, I recommend, Jennifer Save Me, Jane, Angelyne, Eyes of Sarah Jane, and Tailspin.
