Why does everybody use so much echo? Page used three effects during the whole time in the 70s that's all

Maybe so. But listen to the albums closely. Alot of reverb and echo.

I don’t hear an overuse of echo on the Page parts. There is some overuse of echo on vocals and the harmonica. On a sidenote, I’m pretty sure one of the effects Page did use was echo.
