The wheels have European style disc brakes attached to the side, wich are the silvery „loops“ with the holes in them.

I remember reading something to the fact that Atlas leaves the sun visors off for the modeler to apply because then they can classify it as a "kit". Something having to do with it's easier or cheaper to import a "kit" than a completed model. I have no idea if that's true, but that's what I read somewhere.

Very handsome sd60m model, UP used to own a large fleet of these locomotive models and it would be nice if Athearn started producing locomotive models with die cast metal shell bodies instead of plastic bodies.

The windshields still don't have the proper contours on the 60Ms. The draftgear boxes are still horribly oversized and bad looking. They just won't give this essential detail any new tooling which they should have from the line and price point

Very impressive and handsome dash 9 locomotive model from Athearn Genesis with an impressive sounding horn, Athearn Genesis has recently produced releases of the modern ge locomotives the cw44-9 and the ac4400cw and both are very impressive and well detailed models. The Athearn Genesis 2.0 series has added improvements to the detail features of their locomotive models and I am eager to see what new locomotive model that Athearn will produce in their Genesis class series.

elvas... nice review ... btw, once you start her and get the volume up, it is really tough to hear your commentary. by way of polite suggestion, i would turn down the master volume ( cv 128 i think) a bit or turn down your recording volume on your recording device. your thoughts upon review are very insightful, unfortunately not being able to hear them really sucks for those of us that truly like your work !!! btw, i have somewhere near 30-35 various bowser engines and i must say that they are really super consistent in their quality as i have NEVER had any problems with any of them, and i tend to run them on the "hard" side !!! as with all my engines in the division, they get regular, proper maintenance... just a great product which fully agrees with your review !!! please keep the videos rolling for us, elvas !!!

Very impressive and attractive cw44-9 model, Union Pacific had a small original roster of 40 cw44-9 engines built in 1994 and the majority of the UP GE dash 9 locomotives were inherited from the railroad mergers with the SP and C&NW back during the mid 1990s. Scaletrains produces many incredible locomotive models and this GE dash 9 model fits that description, the modern GE locomotives are very common and I am impressed by the detail on the truck wheelsets that I've seen on Scaletrains GE locomotive models.

I picked up one in dc, which is my first bowser loco. The right ditch light doesn't work, and the left one that is working is 10x brighter than the headlights. As you mentioned the weight is definitely on the lighter side. I planned on putting a lokpilot in it, and hope I can get the ditch light working when I get the shell off, though I'm not good at tinkering with stuff like that. It should work as intended out of the box! Disappointed to say the least, I doubt I'll be buying any more bowser locos.
