Sharpening the edge of your shovel would make things a bit easier.

There is a glue called fabric glue could just flip the bottom of your pants up one turn. More curb appeal plus the they will last longer. By you not walking on them.

I prefer to pull weeds big weeds too, rather than just cut them off just to have them grow back again.

It is so damn good to finally see someone pull out all the big weeds before mowing over them normally they just mow over them and I wondered if they just came back which I thought they did you did a very amazing job.
