It is 'rabbit'. 'Rarebit'' is a silly gentrification much beloved by the catering trade. Edit: I am from the area and did not recognise the restaurant. Subsequently looked it up on 'TripAdvisor' - they have serious issues. In general I would avoid those places offering 'Welsh Cuisine', there are a lot of places that try and pull this one, serving 'Curried Lamb Lloyd George' or something the chef has dreamed up.

Hi .The guy at the Tower of london was a foot Guard a member of the armed forces . They all have to do ceremonial duties at some point in there career. At any point can be deployed to fight over seas so hes not to be messed with . The yoeman warder that was goving the tour was a beefeater ( nick name ) they are all ex military and all live on site , also the oldest formed body of men in the world basically they protect the king on ceremonial occasions . Hope you enjoyed your visit 😊

That bread look looked lush but think it would have tasted even better if you waited until you were able to thickly butter it first! The Repair Shop is a fab programme - do you watch it on BBC America?

You are so right!!! It would've been lovely buttered! We loved the repair shop!!! It's so relaxing to watch, and when they restore a someone's precious item, it pulls at the heartstrings🥰 We used to watch it when it was on netflix, now we can't watch it because I don't have a paid subscription to a service that offers it (Netflix removed it).

I was born 1959 and grew up in North London (Edmonton) and yes we had Fish and Chips from time to time, usually on a Friday from a local Fish and chip Shop but I think there is far too much fuss being made about it as a ’National Dish'. It’s just battered fish and fried potatoe (as in chips). It’s become a bit of national stereotype and in my generation I certainly do not remember eating it wrapped in news paper , yuck!! Maybe that was during or just after the war or something before my time. Why does every country have to have a 'national dish’ . Really did enjoy your video and felt it was well edited and paced. Come back soon.

Coming from America, and Hawaii in specific..we eat a LOT of fish. The Fish and Chips I've had there was some of the absolute best I have ever eaten in my life. If every country didn't have something to call their "own", travelers like myself wouldn't know what to try when visiting, and would miss out on some of the best parts in traveling (food from another culture) because some of the best tasting foods are the ones that are presented as "simple" dishes. Simple dishes can be easily overlooked, and I would of been sad to know I might of missed out because I was looking for something more "fancy". Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and sharing a part of your history with us. We loved it in England, and we hope to be back sooner than later! Do you have any recommendations for our next visit? Thank you so much for watching!

Blimey o’riley!!!! the cost of visiting the Observatory and the Meridian Line!?! 😲😲😲😲😳😳😳😳🙄🙄 M, J & J and the donkey! Going to school in the Greenwich borough, going to the Maritime museum, the observatory and the Meridian line was free!! No money changed hands to stand either side of it! My school classes went every year, even it was at was then an affordable cost to the school, it would have been a very expensive educational outing!! I am in shock now 🤯🤯😵‍💫😵‍💫

Please, would people coming to drive in the UK take some time to learn the Highway Code. On motorways (freeways), you drive on the left, NOT in one of the overtaking lanes. It is a driving offence, can cause accidents and congestion. A couple of hours reading the Highway Code will make you driving easier and safer

The items from the Parthenon are not STOLEN! they are being “borrowed” and cared for by the British Museum trustees. 🤣🤣🤣If you saw the current state of those statues that were left in situ, they have not been “looked after”, preserved and treated by their current owners, they are in a state of broken disarray and have been left to crumble into dust. It is BRITISH archaeologists and experts who are out in Athens right now, in the vain hope they can maintain the statues and try to carefully “restore” them. Why do you think they want the ones in the Museum returned then?
@fire-and-ice
@fire-and-ice Ай бұрын
It was in the news that the Greeks had asked for them back, and of course anybody can feel for that. When we were in Greece we learned that some of the statues were burned for fuel, so it is wonderful to know that the British saved and are caring for those items. Thank you for that perspective, and thank you for watching!

I personally try and be mindful of that. Sometimes I catch myself, and sometimes the old habits kick in. You are right, it is the perfect way to spot an American. My dad was born in England and left as a little boy. He ALWAYS eats with a fork and knife in hand no matter WHAT he is eating, and he STILL holds it as the Europeans do...even after being raised as an American at only two years old. I've watched him my whole life and have not picked up that habit. Mostly because I don't use a knife with most of the foods I normally eat, so holding a knife during a meal is un-natural for me (and others I know). This is probably why I default to holding a fork in my right hand (and habitually switching it to my dominant hand when using a knife). Thank you for watching!

For health and safety reasons, they stopped serving fish and chips in newspaper many many years ago, I'd guess about 25 years. They deemed it unsafe for the oily fish and chips to come into contact with the newspaper ink, and now serve in plain greased proof paper..

Almedalen Park is famous for its annual political summer convention "Almedalen Week" which takes place the first week of July. It's a parliamentarian event, meaning every single political party shows up and the party leaders get one speech each from the same stage over multiple days. It has tens of thousands of visitors, hundreds of journalists, as well as thousands of organizers, activities and events. This year, the estimated amount of visitors was 80,000-100,000 people. That's almost 1% of the entire Swedish population.

The advantage of a metrocard is you can use it on the buses and metro. If you buy a card at Albrook Terminal it also allows access to bus services to outside the city (to pay the small charge at turnstiles to access the buses) and even the toilets in the terminal!

Liked the video. A good, unusual approach compared to other videos. Reminds me of the confusion I felt when I first visited Panama, years ago when there was no metro or metro buses, and no easy connection from the airport (which there is now). I spoke no Spanish and didn't really know what to expect, where to go or what to do.

Hotel Acapulco is in Calidonia, a poorer area of the city. Not the worst part, and fine during the daytime. Shows the need to check out the exact location of your hotel beforehand! Relatively inexpensive hotels are in other areas, such as El Canrejo, which would be safe day and night - you don't need to use an expensive hotel, but you do need to check the location
