I totally totally totally get it!!! I have those same feelings as well. I have really bad anxiety about things like that and I have found what works for me is to make things my own so I don't have this weird guilt that I copied a friend. I feel like the impostor syndrome really gets you when you actually start comparing the skill level and similarity and then have so much self-doubt. I try not to over analyze it anymore and try to take ideas and make it into my own little niche of things that I already do so that way it stays unique in my mind, haha. I don't know if I make sense lol. I also want you and anyone to know that you should take the inspiration that you have found and run with it! Make it your own and enjoy the journey. Do not let impostor syndrome hold you back from achieving your goals and all that you aspire to be. <3

I think so many of us get it!! I need to realise that even if I use a similar idea as someone else, the execution is going to be completely different in my own style!! But even then I get stuck sometimes and I need to learn to overcome it, or I'll never make anything, ever!!

I haven't watched the video yet, but I had a very strange realization at the beginning. I have never heard a british person describe tea (in this case a tea flavor). like... at all? Everything created right now, is because of something and someone that came before. It's not following a "trend". Its the natural evolution of ideas. Picasso may have been great at cubism but he wasn't the only one. Its still your idea and still your vision. Don't forget plagiarism is stealing which you know you dont do. You see something, its sparks something in you, and you create something to inspire others just like you. Simple as that ❤

Omg, your rewards are so BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your top membership tier, that is an awesome deal and I love how personable it is. I absolutely love your artwork, it's so colorful and cute. I love Ko-Fi, I originally thought I would stay with them forever, but I've heard there customer service is not so good. I don't have any experience with that yet since I haven't had any issues to report, but I do have concerns that they do not reply to requests when there are issues as a small artists. I plan to eventually get a Shopify page when it makes sense for me to. With that being said, I think Ko-Fi is definitely a better option than Patreon (and even Etsy if you aren't interested in the marketing aspect). They have really great features that can be integrated with Twitch like you mentioned and i love that you can have a shop, tip jar, and membership tiers all on one page and it's SO affordable compared to ecommerce sites. P.S - So happy to see you doing more videos. <3

@@illustratingchristy ooohhh interesting I’ve had the opposite experience and it was one of the reasons I admired them!! I have had to reach out a few times and I’ve always heard back quickly. Theres definitely things that could improve - like having a currency marker somewhere so people don’t get confused, ‘$’ is used for so many currencies 😖 Shopify sounds good too!! I think I’m too deep into Ko-fi now to switch though 😂😂 I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos!!! I love watching yours too 🥰

Thank you also for opening up about how you have struggled with trying to fit in to working regular 9-5 jobs. Everything you said I felt in my SOUL. I always felt like I was slower as well and none of it made sense to me except for the creative world. I feel so much more at peace doing art vs grinding away at work for someone else. You are right though, since starting my little art business, I am always thinking about it. However, I don't dread it like I do going into my full time job. I enjoy coming up with new artwork and creative ideas for my shop! I love packaging and replying to people who support me. It feels so much more fulfilling. I'm so excited for your upcoming vlogs!!! This is going to be so awesome! I'm so happy for you!

I didn't know anything about the Instagram AI situation 😅... I think when it comes to posting more more personal stuff on Insta I think you should definitely do it occasionally keep the focus on your art but it's like with nerdE we love her for her creations but then we love her for her because over the years we've gotten to know her a bit more personally too and that tends to create loyalty in the fan base... I would definitely love to see you here more as I don't use twitch anymore... Maybe if you do another galactea chat video find a day you have time after your twitch stream send people here and stream it and record so if you have some people joining you for the chat and either way you have a video to upload where you just have a natter with us like this video 🤷🏻♀️ just an idea... Has little sloth got a name yet he's so adorable... As always much love 😊

Oh my gosh this video hit hard! I feel you pumpkin, I feel like artists are having to be more of a brand then anything else these days. Like your a 'Personality' rather then 'just'an artist (and such a lovely personality too!) Believe it or not, I actually think a lot of my work has been coming because of the AI mess recently. People and businesses are more invested in me as a person, not just the art. They seem to like seeing things 'çreated' by a 'real' artist. Whether that be on instagram, twitch, youtube etc. Its almost like a prestige thing now to say your artwork was created by a real artist and not AI. I'd love to chat to you about AI sometime, I find the whole thing really fascinating... Anyway, I loved this video, your the best x P.s. Trust yourself love, your great at this (KZbin)!

I totally understand!!! I just decided to make a change and try being more open about my journey while basically talking to myself lol, but I surprisingly got a lot of support that made me overwhelmed (in a good way) after the upload. SO I definitely recommend trying the studio vlogs even if it feels uncomfortable at first. We are all here to support you! I really miss your streams, I wish our time zone was the same. Your voice is so calming and your art is absolutely beautiful. Wishing you the best with your future goals, my friend!

@@GalacticatStudios Oddly enough, I had opened this video last night and didn't have a chance to watch it (content posting issues on my end)...so when I turned on my PC this afternoon, it was sitting here waiting. It was kind of EXACTLY the kinds of things I needed to hear. Being very, very new to content creation, I easily find myself overwhelmed and MOST videos like "this" are just checklists of things to do to get followers or just general complaints that added to my stress. This well-timed Galacti-chat pulled me back from a stress ledge and gave me a chance to listen and know that I'm not alone in the struggles of content creation. Thanks for this gem of a video!!!

Definitely want to talk about the struggles with KZbin shorts! It's like MOST apps/forums have given you a pretty simple layout. You're either posting 1:1 (instagram, for the most part) or you're going 16:9 for KZbin or others. Then shorts just throws a wrench in everything! Content I make using BOTH aspect ratios still never quite work on Shorts. I've found that I can make templates specifically for the apps/forums I'm posting to, but like you said, that's just one more step and 5 more minutes I could use CREATING and not uploading something I'm proud of creating, right?

I mean, I realized I had posted an almost identical reel on Insta today because I had made one specifically for shorts and one for reels...but both ended up on insta. It's nuts. I'm with you though...Twitch is most definitely my happy place. Not so much to SELL my creations, but definitely to network, interact, and such. Sadly my internet isn't good enough here to be able to stream or I'd be building legos or a keyboard right now!

Honestly, this has been a great little chat! I'm trying to get an "art career" started and have just been so overwhelmed with all the places people say I should post to. It's just so much to keep up with. And when it comes to tiktok, for me, it feels so unnatural to film my art process while I'm making something, so I always forget and never record anything xD
