Hi what kind of fabric are you using for the lining?

It's a non-stretch nylon tricot from this kit: porcelynne.com/products/cashmerette-loftus-bralette-pink-lace-and-purple-fabric-with-whitesilver-finding-kit

I have a cozy flannel I am hoping to make some lounge/pj pants out of. I have this pattern from the book but just realized it’s for a knit. Do you have a pattern that might work? I have made a few failures before because they just don’t accommodate my curves.
@Cashmerette6 күн бұрын
You could try using our Calder Pants pattern! It's not meant to be lounge pants, but it could be super cozy in flannel! cashmerette.com/calder

1:12:53 oh my God, thank you for mentioning that! This happens to me so often and it has been driving me mad, because I thought I was just that sloppy with marking, cutting or sewing 😂 Good to know it happens to others as well!

What happens when one side is way bigger than the other
@Cashmerette28 күн бұрын
You can make an asymmetric pattern instead of having a pattern piece which is cut on the fold. Basically you would trace the pattern piece so that it's a full front piece (rather than a half piece), and then do the FBA differently on either side.

Hello, I’m just starting to watch bra making videos. So very interesting & intricate ❤ I will try sewing in near future for granddaughter / oversize needs. I don’t feel the recent sizing at Dillards was correct. How can she really be 46 H. At store. When home measurements are 58 full bust / 48 under bust band ? I have been making 3x into 4x outerwear. But the bras. Are a whole new world. Thank you.
@Cashmerette28 күн бұрын
To be honest, bra sizing is a very variable matter! And it isn't not that uncommon to be measured incorrectly in a store. The key thing is to go by measurements, and when you're making a bra, the pattern will always have a measurements table you can go by. I recommend ignoring your "typical" store size - as it may be wrong - and using the tables to try your first muslin.

Okay, I'm a newbie, I happily admit, but I really wish you'd done this tutorial with a patterned fabric instead of lace. The lace makes it so much harder to be totally clear what you're doing and which side is going to which side.

But I must add, now that I've finished making the bra, that this sewalong was super helpful, thank you!

I am now in my 60s and retired…I have had a love of sewing since I was a young girl, when I made summer dresses very quickly without any finishing that ‘fitted where they touched’ !! You have upped my game no end and given me confidence and so much inspiration… It is wonderful to now have the time to emerse myself in your books, patterns and sew alongs….i just completed the montvale dress,withe the sleeves, best fit and finish ever ☺️👍 Now onwards to work through your other projects… THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, so happy to have found you 👏🧵💕Xxx

This was SO helpful, thank you!! Question: my finished bra looks good except it looks clumsy at the front center waistband where the elastic overlaps - the crossover pulls and bends - any thoughts about making this more neat?
@Cashmerette3 ай бұрын
You could try tacking together the overlapping part of the elastic to hold it in place!

I made this skirt in linen. The pattern was great and easy to follow. I wore it out for a day and I'll be making a few tweaks one is finding a way to hide my legs when I sit down in a moderately relaxed way. I love all the patterns and the clear easy way the books explain fitting issues and how to make the pattern fit your own personal body type.

I use a small and a large black Sharpie to trace my patterns onto Architectural tracing paper which doesn't bleed through. In order to zero in on the all corners of the pattern piece in my size, I use the smaller Sharpie and mark each of them with an "L" of sorts. That way, I mark the horizontal side and the vertical side to start with. Then, I take my large Sharpie and trace from one "L" (corner) to the next. This helps guide me as I trace. If the pattern is in one color, I'll take another color to periodically mark each of the pattern lines I will be using with a dash here and there along the perimeter of the pattern piece.

I have watched many sewing tutorials from other channels. You are the BEST sewing tutorial instructor I have encountered this far! Your directions are way beyond clear and your cameral angles are perfect! If this dress pattern was in smaller sizes, I would have purchased your book last night. Please, please provide this pattern in smaller sizes. Question. : Do all your patterns on your website come with your excellent video sewing tutorials? You are amazing! ❤
@Cashmerette4 ай бұрын
Wow, thank you! Most of my patterns come with photo or video sewalongs but not all of them are hosted by me.
