Given it’s from TWC 1997, of course it would be pretty much all Trammel Starks…the guy is a legend

Well I definitely hear bassist, Patrick O’Hearn starting out, then not in order, Pat Metheny Group, The Rippingtons, and I think FourPlay.

Reminds me of waiting with my mom to see what the shore weather would be like for the one weekend a year we could afford to spend there. I would jump up and down with excitement if it was no rain.

if you dig this music look up Chalk Dinosaur's live sets. some of their stuff is like a modern take on this genre.

I wonder where I was on Saturday, November 1st, 1997. I would have been 21 years old. Would give anything to go back.

I was born in 1998 and my mom would play a tape of weather channel music when I had trouble sleeping. I think this was when I was about 4 or 5. I started to recognize the songs when they'd play on the weather channel local forecast and I would mention it and start humming along and stuff. People were like "why does this 5 year old know the weather channel music"

As a local on the 8s fan i really miss the classic jazz that would play on tv i was born in 90 and i can't believe this was 27 years ago now we have jim cantore on the local on the 8s its sad without Alan Jackson

Hot damn! Real music from the 90's. I was one of those who just left the channel on for the tunes. Loved this stuff. Who cares about the weather. It was all for the music. Thanks for the memories.

@@michaelcarter1494 I loved the turn of the month and listening to the new music before school... even during Wake Up with Al, because I was usually early enough to get a few segments before... on purpose.

This is really going back, but does anyone remember when the weather channel would have the city names on tombstones for Halloween? They would change the spelling, e.g., Spokane, Washington would become “Spookane” abd Wichita was Witchata etc….so fun!

I would go to sleep to this music during the hard times when I couldn't sleep. ❤

why does that first song sound like a Mario Kart credits theme

The SNES had an audio chip that stored a library of electronic keyboard sounds, rather than generating them on the fly. Most likely the keyboard being used to make music was similar to the sounds stored SNES keyboard sounds. That and it was a similar smooth jazz style of music.

Put yourself in 1997 and you have your buddies over. You tell them you can't turn the Weather Channel off bc you are recording it. It wasn't understood until now, 2 1/2 decades later. I used to sit around w my buddy getting stoned and leaving The Weather Channel on just like this for like hours haha this and the preview channel!
