Is it possible to do this stitch with more than 2 colours? I assume you would have to carry all the yarn at the beginning. Thank you for the video 😊
@ErinisCornerАй бұрын
You can, however you wanna make sure you are using light weight yarn in such a case or otherwise the end result will be too stiff

I was taught to crochet granny squares by my mum. Love this pattern. I’d love to make it using 3 colours as you’ve done, but I’ve no idea how much yarn to buy. Please help many thanks for a lovely pattern.
@ErinisCornerАй бұрын
@@amandasilk9927 Hello, thank you for your comment. I used a variegated yarn in the tutorial. If you wish to know how many grams are used to make a square, you can make a sample with the yarn of your choice to make one square (it will also depends on how many rounds you want your square to be) , and use a kitchen scale to weigh it. That way you know the grams and depending on the size of skein you use, you can calculate the number of squares you can make out of a skein. Hope that answered your question.

@@ErinisCorner Erinis you being the expert... Will it be and look okay if the pattern call for a dc, I then substitute it with your no holes or gaps dc? Thanks!
@ErinisCorner2 ай бұрын
If the gauge for what you are doing isn't crucial, then for sure you can substitute it with the linked DC. However, if it's a garment or you are aiming for a specific size of the final project, then I'd suggest making a swatch first and make your calculations ahead of time.

Perfect tutorial! Very easy to understand. You didn't cut the yarn when you changed to a new color. What happens to the yarn of the first color if you don't cut it?
@ErinisCorner5 ай бұрын
As you finish the 2nd row of color 2, you will be on the same side where you dropped color 1, you undo the last step of the last stitch in current row and finish it with color 1.. Repeat every 2 rows.

Would this technique work with a tapestry that uses more than 2 colors❓ Or will it get way too bulky❓
@ErinisCorner7 ай бұрын
Yes. However, you need to consider the stiffness of the final product... If you use weight 4 yarn, the project will not be flowy. You may want to use a thinner yarn or a bigger hook. A swatch will be helpful to guide you.

What mm do u remember 3mm?
@ErinisCorner Жыл бұрын
Yes, about so. You can use any yarn or cord, you will just have to change the hook size but if you want a stiff base, always go 1 mm less that what the yarn recommends. I am currently working on a project with worsted yarn and 2 mm hook to have it as stiff as possible.
