They're very similar tbh. I'd take the roadster due to the sporty platform being popular for stunting unlike the XR

I have a 2004 Deuce and it never gets any rest. I made it my own the way i want it to look and run and it does both very well. People who know Deuce ask me every time " Is that a Deuce?" And many follow with "Damn, thats the best looking Deuce i ever seen." I ain't bragging cause its been to much time and money getting it there to bragg about, just being proud of it when i hear them say that..thats all. Wish i could put a picture on here but don't see any way to do that....but i ride motorcycles not computes so there may be a way to, don't know.....what i do know is just like every bike i built and owned my Deuce aint shit without me...and my friends thats the way it should be.

17:54 "I know the 114 it's a better paltform as far as the engine goes..." Not true, not true at all, the 110 motor has better internal parts (and for that matter, also better external parts like the intake manifold) the 110 is a Screamin' Eagle motor, the 114 is just a regular one.

I have one - a 42WLA Type VII from 1945 and I just love riding it. Best with little or no traffic though ! However about the production numbers. Harley made around 88 000 bikes for the US Army - yes. But these included other models than the 42WLA. Big twins, side cars, WLC, etc. They produced only 57565 42WLAs between September 1941 and August 1945, with only 23 403 units going to the US Army. (Source : Bruce Palmer III - the undisputed expert on military Harleys) They were not called 1942 WLA but 42WLA because Harley used that name for those 4 years of the war. You will not find a 43WLA or a 44WLA. And as said were not a total loss oil system. I think the 37WL (the bike which became the WLA) was the first Harley with a scavenger pump. Harley's fiscal year started in September (maybe still does) so the first 42WLA was produced in sept 1941. Nice video et beautiful bike but give me the olive drab bike any day !

I coulda bought a brand new harley with cash if I wanted. But I bought a 2016 with 9k miles on it for a reason. The twin cam 103 sounds like a HARLEY. The M8 just don’t have “it”. I don’t buy a harley to win races so I could care less if the M8 has more power and is faster. The 103 HO is fast enough to get you killed

Even my Slim 2014 (103 cui) felt more torqy than a 107 sport glide. I think the Twin cam is not detuned as much as the Milwaukee line up. Maybe to the strict emission controls?

Roadster should've had the same engine treatment as the xr. I bought an 03 883H and ordered hammer 1275 kit. mad fun now. I have forwards with ten inch speedline(frisco) bars. Very comfortable. I upgraded shocks. I wish i had the dual disc brakes sometimes

Patetismo made in U.S.A. che altro.

It’s definitely unrefined and it’s fantastic. I have a 2013 Streetbob (1690cc) and it’s a thing of beauty. You said that they have a soul and that’s exactly how I’d describe it. They’re superb machines.

What happened to that fender? Where's the rest of it? So far I have yet to meet someone who likes the modern styling cues getting f#cked up the a$$ of the old school aesthetics. Pick a lane Harley and see where it takes you.

Just saw this in 5/24 and had to comment. I have a 2019 Fat Boy 114 and my buddy has a Soft Tail Deluxe CVO with the 110 Screaming Eagle kit. We went to sturgis and my bike is clearly faster and has more torque. Period. Plus, the 240mm tire makes my bike look bad ass. He has tons of chrome but my bike really caught the attention. We were riding in 50mph wind gusts and I was getting blwon al over the road. However, I dont think the wind had any impact due to my wheels. My buddy had a bad time, too.

One of the things Harley did to win the Contract was provide a Technical School to Teach Troops how to maintain & Take apart the bikes and put them back together in the field & if needed how to Frankenstein the bikes to keep them running. I heard a story about some WLA’s taken out by a Mortars The Soldiers Riding them Salvaged parts off the damaged Bikes and Frankenstein’d one back together and sent a single rider back to get help

The XR made 79HP but could make 100HP when exhaust and air box were swapped out with freer flowing units. The XR was way better handling than the Sportster. Really no comparison between the two bikes. It was a shame because the bike did not sell well.
